Lyrics to "Big Beautiful Ball"?

On the soundtrack to "Not With My Wife You Don't, Johnny Mandel sings the song "Big Beautiful Ball", kind of a big band jazz waltz tune. I can't make out one phrase of the lyrics, and the published version lacks this verse, which appears in the recording. Near the end, he sings, " Drink hearty, it's my party, LIKE A VIS TOE MEN IT, man......"

If anyone can make this out, or has seen the movie, I would appreciate knowing what this lyric is. Thanks!

The lyrics to Big Beautiful Ball are this:

(lyrics by Johnny Mercer)

Hey look-a me ma mama I'm dancin'

And I might somersault right over the wall

This isn't a girl* but a whole world im romancin'

And we're havin' a big beautiful ball

It's like I went out and got high on a wee today

Yes siree matey I feel eighty feet tall

My heavens above ev'ryone loves ev'ry body

And we're havin' a big beautiful ball

Funny old world I just adore you

Fondly I implore you

You old troubadour, you, please,

When you get ready I'd like to go steady

And gee, take it from me, it'll be groovy

Cause there's somebody up there diggin' us all

Old chappie it ends happuy just like in a movie

And we're havin' us one fabulous, fantabulous, beautiful ball.

Fred,

In the main title of the movie the lyrics start with the verse "Funny old world..." that jsawruk has kindly posted above. I think the song also appears over the end titles but cannot remember what lyrics were used.

I saw this film a few years ago and like, wow man! This film is for squares! Being a JW fan I felt obliged to watch it to the end but the film is so lame it was almost unbearable to watch. In fact I'd go as far as to say that it is the worst John Williams-scored film I have ever seen. Maybe cool cats digged its zaniness in the 60s but it's all lost on me...

A much better Williams/Mercer collaboration can be heard in Robert Altman's The Long Goodbye. If you want further info on any Johnny Mercer lyrics, check out www.johnnymercer.com.
