deimos 0
Since I was the second voter and the result was 2 for Psycho, I can assume that I agree with you in Psycho being the best. Love those strings.

Unlucky Bastard 7,782
The Birds. Damn fine music in that film. Tommy doesn't know what he's missing.
Incanus 5,714
Psycho. The best and most effective score though I must admit I have heard about half of those listed. But Psycho can't be beaten. Benny added so much to the movie with that score. Mad house motif is scary as hell and it is only three notes. Only Herrmann can inject those little notes with such creepines. Other composers can compose frightining music but Herrmann was the master at it.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
That's not an answer to my question.I can agree that Herrmann's "Murder Cue" is a perfect piece of film scoring, but you say you have listened to his work on The Birds, what did you think of the way he translated the horror of masses of attacking birds into music? John McClane 1
I don't think The Birds is bad, but the fact I listened to it 2-3 times in my life doesn't make me able to vote. I prefer to not vote rather than vote for something I'm not expert in. 8OAnswering to your previsious question, I don't remember anything that made me think that The Birds is lacking something compared to Psycho. #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Bernard Herrmann's radical approach to writing film music redefined the relationship between image and sound, and his brilliant scores for Psycho, Vertigo and The Birds bear testimony to this.Is this concert being organized by Mirko? pat_burke 0
North By Northwest is my favourite. Psycho is great in parts but the whole score is a bit repetitive. The Birds is a load of shite.

Orson 1
Where's Citizen Kane?Have to go with Psycho of course in terms of it serving the film the best. However, if I would go with my favorite it would be Vertigo..... the opening music is one of my faorite Herrrmann pieces.

John McClane 1
Please read the number of posts I make that have nothing to do with you at all.I actually like you when you don't insult/bash members/scores/movies (like we did today with Die Hard - see? We still can have good discussion without fight). And then read the number of posts you make that are all about Mirko.I never talk about me, except defending myself when you or the other 3 attacks me. I really dislike to have the attentions on me (in fact I never write my name apart the signature on occasional posts), expecially when it's you that provoke my reactions even if I'd like to not be the subject of the discussion. nightscape94 965
As effective Psycho is in the movie, it's gets very repetitive on album. But as far as the score goes with respect to the film, it's Psycho all the way baby.Tim
