Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau has been awarded the prestigious POLAR MUSIC PRIZE. Interesting choice. What do you think?

One of the best baritones in the world. To tell the truth, I didn't even know he was still alive.

And what's the POLAR MUSIC PRIZE?

Does Williams sing better than Fischer-Dieskau?

No, he doesn't, but he has a singer, who gets exact notes by Williams how to sing, when not to sing etc. It's 10-bar sketches at least, with every slightest crescendo or decrescendo marked and other notes on singing details. The singer is really nothing more than an executor. If Williams were to sing himself, he'd sing exactly the same way his singer does for him.

Gee, Lotman, you should sell the T-shirt with that quote from Marian.
