Hasn't anyone noticed this? AOTC was the big winner at the IMA 2002.1 Awards, winning for Best Film, Best Actress (Portman), Best Supporting Actor (McGregor), Best Score (Williams!!), Visual Effects and Breakthrough Performance (Christensen). So, that the first score award to go to AOTC, lets hope not the last.

what kind of award is that?

Doesn't sound worth consideration.

You're right, it's not a big award, but still - its the public, who votes, and so its SORT OF like the oscars...

Any award that recognizes Portman and Christensen can't be worth the cardboard it's printed on, but if it makes you guys feel better...

Portman for best actress?????????? IMA?????? What is this the Immature Midichlorian Awards?

I see........

Perhaps the requirement for nomination was "Actress in a Star Wars prequel released in 2002 who's name ryhmes with "Atalie Ortman."

Who cares about the awards. As long as the films and the scores are good. I don't care.

I care about some awards since it is a way for people to be publically recognized for their accomplishments. Seeing John Williams, for example, being handed a trophy for a film score is much more interesting than reading message boards about how so-and-so liked or disliked that score. Granted some award shows are simply ROTFLMAO

Untill this morning I hadn't heard of the IMAs and so I know nothing about them, but if the majority of some unknown segment of the public voted John Williams as composing the best score for (well, not the year 2002 - perhaps for the month of May) then I would agree with them and be glad that Williams gets awarded for his job. If I were JW I would probably be more pleased with my shiny new IMA trophy than knowing what George Lucas et al did with the score.

Anyone want to explain what, exactly the IMA's are?

The Internet Movie Awards are awards in varoius categories (similar to the oscars) where the winners are decided through online votes.

Well, I'm sure gald AOTC won as many awards as it did, at least shows some people enjoyed the movie as much as I did, but are worth what they're worth the IMA's.

Online votes?

Ugh, no wonder Star Wars won so many awards.

Whenever there's an online vote of ANY kind regarding Star Wars, the hardcore fans come out in droves and vote repeatedly for Star Wars, no matter what. Happens all the time in "Best of the Summer" kind of polls. Whenever there is one, Star Wars is always lagging behind in the poll, but then the Force.net posts about it and suddenly SW has ten times more votes than anything else on the poll.

Thats a total joke! 2002 is not even nearly over yet and they are already giving out the awards??

Yeah how much you want to bet they put up 5,000 links on SW fanboys sites like theforce.net so every remaining SW loyalist could stack the vote for Uncle George. 8O

Does it cross anyone's mind once in a while that some people actually loved AOTC?

And the IMA's concern only the 1st half of each year.

Happens here, too, in case you haven't notice.

Figo, who really needs to figure out how to alter his IP number.

Yeah, even the Polls here.... Lets see... Best Conductor?!?!?!?!?! Uhuh... Yup, of course it's John Williams?!?!?!?..... How about best Composer Tennis player... John Williams again is it?

Who cares.

Why is it that the mob is always too stupid to vote for anything?

Internet polls are about as meaningful as cow dung. People who vote on the internet always group together for certain stuff like the SW fanboys do for AOTC.
