Ollie 1,375 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 I bought some Indy toys! Those are finally out huh? My nephew collects the Star Wars ones. In fact I bought him the Millenium Falcon set for his birthday.
John Crichton 4 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Some pencils (Hate 'em, but I need them. If God had intended for us to scratch graphite on paper he wouldn't have invented ink), Kleenex, and a new pack of CD-Rs (finally!).
John Crichton 4 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Because I specifically need #2 pencils.Why is it always #2? Has anyone, ever, seen a #1 pencil? Or a #3? Or a #7?
Jill Sandwich 11,166 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Is it so hard to just add the "y" to the end "Kora" every time you type it?Oh I am sorr Kora , I'm afraid the is missing from m ke board. An wa I have more fun calling ou koraYou're still his best girl, Kora.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 My second hand Denon DVD-1920 finally died today after a prolonged period of illness (ironically it died during playback of 2001: A Space Odessey, during the scene were HAL get's disconnected.)Thankfully I've already been looking for a replacement.Tomorrow I will pick up the Pioneer DV-600 from Mediamarkt.A fairly inexpensive DVD/SA-CD/DVD-a Combo player. I had thought of upgrading straight to Blu-ray, but that would mean I would loose the ability to listen to my small but proud SA-CD and DVD-A collection for a while. Since I don't think there are any BR players that support these formats.€169 + an additional €30 to make it region code free. (dirty, moneygrubbing swine!)
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 a screen tool, screen, and cord to redo two old screensalso a roast beef, potates, corn, garlic and onion, plus milk and butter.
indy4 160 Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 My Indy 4 poster just shipped! And not short enough it took! Also got some low fat turkey burgers.
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Also, my server's mainboard broke down yet again, so I had to get a new PC. I don't really have any money right now, but I needed a quick replacement and decided to buy an EEE PC and an external 2.5" HD. Works perfectly so far - very small, very silent, plus it has a battery so it will survive brief power outages without having to reboot (and for longer ones, it can shut down automatically). Also has a built-in display and keyboard if I need to do some quick maintenance in case of network troubles. And if for some reason I have to put it on my desk, thanks to the battery I can do that as well without having to shut it down. This week my bike (literally) broke down:So unless the frame is still covered by warranty (and the store where I bought it still exists), I might have to spend even more of my nonexistant money on a new bike...
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Wow, that looks fairly catastrophic!
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 It made a cracking noise, and I suddenly sat a few centimetres lower and couldn't steer. Nothing serious happened, except that I had to push it all the way home (it broke just after I left work), which therefore took 90 minutes instead of the usual 30.I don't think bike frames are supposed to just break that way, though...I definitely need a working bike within a few weeks - I don't want to be stuck with subways and trams when the European Championship starts.
Trent B 354 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Ouch Marian glad nothing bad happened to you man.
Richard P 5,303 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Wow, that's some breakage... I didn't think bike frames could break that way.Glad to hear you only had a 90 minute journey - coulda been worse
Ollie 1,375 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 The AC went out in my car so I had to by some freon for it.
John Crichton 4 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I had a tire blow out Tuesday morning. Luckily I know a family run shop down the street and got a used one in excellent condition for $20.
Trent B 354 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I couldn't buy my mom anything this year... all my money went to bills but she understood though.
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Who's heather? That dog on the right? If so, where's the second mommie?
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 3 ears of corn on the cob. perhaps the best food on the planet.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 just corn, thats all I want, 3 ears is a meal for me.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 OK I got a new phone today, but all I did was extend my plan another two years, and it didn't cost me anything, so did I make a purchase or not? well maybe it did as I will have to pay an $18.00 activation fee.
Maglorfin 219 Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Bought new All Star shoes (which I've been a fan of for 15 years ) and some clothes.
Mr. Breathmask 624 Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 New sunglasses. I forgot to take my old ones home from the set of Flikken Maastricht the other day.Oh well. New ones are shinier anyway.
Maglorfin 219 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 A few study scores and a new laser printer - Samsung ML-2010PR.
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I've had an ML-4600 for years now and am still perfectly happy with it.
Maglorfin 219 Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Hm, the ML-4600 is obviously a much better model than the ML-2010, but I hope I'll be happy with it nonetheless.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted May 29, 2008 Author Posted May 29, 2008 An awesome outfit for graduation from Men's Warehouse. The whole nine: polo, undershirt, slacks, belt, and shoes.
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Hm, the ML-4600 is obviously a much better model than the ML-2010, but I hope I'll be happy with it nonetheless. Is it? It's several years old and was comparatively inexpensive back then - I'd assumed they just use non-linear model numbering.Anyway, the main point is: Samsung seems to be good.
Maglorfin 219 Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Right you are. So far, I've at least tried to print almost everything (text, photos, graphs, sheet music ...) and am very happy with my purchase.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 A 2002 black Honda Civic 4-door with only 2 thousand miles.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 Just in: black Macbook with wireless mighty mouse, iWork '08, AppleCare Protection Plan, and All-in-One Printer that will be free with $100 rebate.
Trent B 354 Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Bought some cheap over the ear headphones at Wally World today...they suck considering they were only $20. Going to see if dad can take me to Best Buy tomorrow to get some better ones. I hate wearing earbuds all the time.
Trent B 354 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Got some better over the ear headphones from Best Buy today. They're Sony and are noise canceling and they sound a lot better than the crappy Wal-Mart ones I bought last night. I also bought the 2-Disc edition of I Am Legend, I'm really looking forward to watching the alternate version.
