Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 It's weird to realize that in 10 years, I'll probably still be posting here.
indy4 160 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Happy Birthday JWFan, thanks to all who run it and contribute to the conversation!
artyjeffrey 20 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Cool. So, which members left are actually from 1999?

aj_vader 733 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I know im not a super big poster, but well done and happy birthday! done a mighty good job of keeping it all running
Dole 20 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Thanks to Ricard and everyone else who keeps the site going. It's because of the concert listing on the main page and the generosity of one of the members of this board that I had the opportunity to meet John Williams. Thanks again.
Richard P 5,303 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 It's been an interesting, frustrating and sometimes smack-your-head-on-your-keyboard 7 years, but I've loved every minute Great job everyone!
Quintus 6,496 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Happy birthday to my favourite little secret corner of the internet. Thanks to all who keep this place going, meaning admin, our mod and members alike
KittBash 361 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 well I have to say I've been around for the 10 years as well... Same user name and I think pretty well the same avatar... that ol Calvin and Hobbes Avatar has been around awhile and I see a person or two have grabbed it and started using it. I know I only speak up when I see a major point not being made or a news item that somehow fell through the cracks (although that really doesn't happen very often at all!) but this site has been an awesome place to come an read up on what's going on. To put in perspective when I first found this site in 1999 I was a senior in High School. Since then I've gone to College worked for like 5 companies and now have been running my own company for almost 3 years. Wow time flies! Thanks to Ricard (still miss your posts but this place wouldn't be here if not for your constant work) Andreas (whom I feel for as my company is a web design firm so I know his pain) and everyone who posts here and have been posting here for what seems like a lifetime! Here's to another ten years... and who knows maybe this time I'll find more to say! Brian99_1(Jeremy Moss)
Maurizio 6,913 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 It's almost scary to realize ten years already passed. But it's also great to know this place has always succeeded in keeping the love and admiration for John Williams' artistry very much alive. Thanks to Ricard, Andreas, Neil and all the admins for keeping this little corner a fun and up to date place for every John Williams fan. And thanks to all the loyal members who keep this community alive and kicking. Here's to another 10 years and more of JWFan. Cheers!
Jay 46,244 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I am!what is your original screen name?either Ted The Bug or TedTheBug1On one version of the board I was JediJay62 I think as well
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 You can't stop me for saying it, Ollie! No, he can't.... Kora. Anyway, to the board: Old sod!
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I've only been visiting for 7 of those years, and my how things have changed!Happy Birthday! Thanks to everyone for making JWFan what it is!
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Count me as one of the originals from 1999.Happy 10 years JWFAN, and a big thanks to Ricard as well. And Andreas too.et tu brute.me me me but I was JoeinArthanks for the memories.
ChuckM 1 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 So, why are the "original" members listed as joining in '02?Was there a message board swap or something?(Forgive my relative-newness, having only been here for two years.)
King Mark 3,975 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 We had EZ Board, Boardhost and the Groovy Yak board beforedo any of these pages still exist in archives somewhere?
Quintus 6,496 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 We had EZ Board, Boardhost and the Groovy Yak board beforedo any of these pages still exist in archives somewhere?Indeed, it would be hilarious to see how polite and nice everyone was to one another, in the early days
Elmo Lewis 7 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Hey, I posted in the original board too, but I'm too embarrased by those posts to admit what my name was back then.
KittBash 361 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 We had EZ Board, Boardhost and the Groovy Yak board beforedo any of these pages still exist in archives somewhere?Indeed, it would be hilarious to see how polite and nice everyone was to one another, in the early days Unfortunately the Web Archive will only go back to 2001 and the meassage boards are just the post titles.
Williamsfan301 12 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Wow, 10 years. How did this get all started anyways? I'm assuming it was the release of The Phantom Menace?
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 We had EZ Board, Boardhost and the Groovy Yak board beforedo any of these pages still exist in archives somewhere?Indeed, it would be hilarious to see how polite and nice everyone was to one another, in the early days yes because we were so nice, ChrisChrusherComix never argured with Stefancos, and I never argued with Stefancos, and Indysolo never argued with Stefancos, and The Phantom Trio, Stefancos, ChrisChrusherComix, and King Mark, never ever battled each other for post count supremacy.
Johnnyecks 44 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Yah, I was here in 99 as well. Crazy to think it was 10 years since the hype of how awesomely delicious TPM was going to be! Oh what happy, innocent days those were.
PetePan 163 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I was here in '99. Student then and posting a lot. Working now and still lurking around.
tpigeon 3 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 For the first year and a half or so I only visited the news page. Sometime in 2000 I began posting. Hard to believe this much time has gone by, and it's nice to see a nice mix of new and old names here.
Trent B 354 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 It's been one hell of a ride, that's for sure.
Jay 46,244 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 So, why are the "original" members listed as joining in '02?Was there a message board swap or something?(Forgive my relative-newness, having only been here for two years.)Yea exactly, there was a few different message board softwares used before settling on this one... and each time the messages and screen names got wiped out and we had to start all over.
Jim Ware 638 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I suddenly feel old. Don't forget that Williams started recording The Phantom Menace on February 5th 1999 (appropriately with the Star Wars Main Title).
John Takis 394 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Happy Birthday, JWFan!The funniest thing is ... thanks to all the new game sources, I'm STILL re-editing Phantom Menace on a semi-regular basis. (And yes, there was a MB switchover that didn't preserve the original sign-up dates for veteran members. It seems to me, though, that a good many of the original board membership are still around and posting ... a wonderful accomplishment for an online fan community!)
