John Takis 394 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 From GameSpot's recent Q&A regarding the upcoming cross-platform game (forthcoming on Wii, DS, PSP, and PlayStation 2):GS: Who's handling the music?MV/JS: When you hear the original John Williams music from the Indy films, it just gets your heart racing, so we just had to incorporate those pieces into the game. Additionally, our music supervisor, Jesse Harlin, went to the vaults and found some really great music from the Adventures of Young Indiana Jones TV series that we used as well. Finally, to bring more uniqueness to this story, composers Gordy Haab and Ray Harman created some really great original pieces that have odes to the classic John Williams music.Jesse Harlin previously wrote music for Republic Commando and also supervised The Force Unleashed. I believe this will be the first Lucas-related project for Gordy Haab and Ray Harman, although I may be mistaken. Both composers have a number of IMDB credits under their belt, although nothing very major.
Henry B 51 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 There's a lot of unreleased music in the trailer for the game.
Delorean90 47 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 This sounds like really great news for all Indy music fans--we could possibly be getting unreleased film music, almost certainly be getting unreleased Young Indy music, and original Indy style music. I'm pumped.
John Crichton 4 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Oh yay, more editing. At least we only need a small percentage of what was unreleased less than a year ago.
Trent B 354 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 More unreleased music, is always excellent. Hopefully someone here from the board will get the PS2 version and rip it.By the way Gordy Haab co-composed with Kyle Newmaster the score piece for the fan film Ryan Vs. Dorkman II.
Datameister 2,586 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I enjoyed that score, actually, at least in the context of the film. Fun fan film, too, if you can say that three times fast.
Trent B 354 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I enjoyed that score, actually, at least in the context of the film. Fun fan film, too.I agree on both accounts. I always listen to the Ryan Vs. Dorkman II cue piece every day as I bought the soundtrack CD from Ryan Weiber and also bought the DVD so I check out the fan film every now and then.
Wojo 2,458 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Hmmm, another Wii game that looks promising like TFU, will probably suck like TFU, and I'll be glad I didn't get like TFU.
Jacob 1 Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 The Wii version comes with Fate of Atlantis as an unlockable. Nice.
Jeshopk 8 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 You can contact Jesse Harlin on myspace. He might be open to the idea of including certain Williams pieces in any given game he is involved in. Nice guy. I once let him know that people are clamoring for those complete scores that he has access to in his office, and he understood why. Maybe a few emails to request certain pieces being included in the game could be...influential.
Trent B 354 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I wouldn't contact Jesse on myspace. I've tried to get some info from him regarding The Phantom Menace score and he reported me to myspace as harassment (of course I did no such thing) which in turn had my account deleted and I had to restart and readd everyone I had on my list.
Henry B 51 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I'm sure Harlin is very busy and has little time for chatting about unreleased music.
