Trent Hoyt 13 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 What podcasts, if any, do you guys listen to? I listen to the ForceCast and the IndyCast. Does anyone know of a Star Trek podcast that is at the level of these two?
Greg1138 3 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I don't listen to any movie-related ones as have never found one that I liked.....but Skeptics Guide to the Universe podcast is essential listening....
Morlock 12 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I listen to the Creative screenwriting podcast, which features Q&A with screenwriters. Great stuff, which Ross turned me on to a year ago. Also to The Film Talk, a great movie podcast that features ideas you won't find anywhere else.
Jay 46,244 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I listen to these good comedy ones:-The Adam Carrolla Podcast-Two Jacks In The Hole-SModcastI listen to some poker ones-Poker Road Radio-The Poker Beat-Cash Playsother than that, just The Official LOST Podcast. The BSG podcast used to be great too.
Elmo Lewis 7 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I listen to the Creative screenwriting podcast, which features Q&A with screenwriters. Great stuff, which Ross turned me on to a year ago. Dammitt, you beat me to it. And who is this Ross guy taking my credit for introducing you to the site?
Morlock 12 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I wasn't sure what the prefered nomenclature was at the moment. p.s. doesn't it annoy you that I've gotten far more mileage out of a site you introduced me to than you ever could?
Elmo Lewis 7 Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Who says you have? I'm just a discreet milleage-er.
Trent Hoyt 13 Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 Any good Star Trek podcasts out there?
Morlock 12 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Who says you have? I'm just a discreet milleage-er. Trust me. I have. I'm long beyond how many, now it's a question of how many times.
Elmo Lewis 7 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Then I can only feel happy that I've showed you a site you like so much. Ha!I've never revisited an interview. I'd be down to give the Frost/Nixon and The Doubt a second go, though, out of love for those writers. In The Loop, too, were it not for Mimi Kennedy's annoying interruptions.
russds 8 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 There's a nice JW Special on the IndyCast. Pretty good, with a nice collection of music snippets. http://www.forcecast.net/story/topstory/IndyCast_Special_9_The_Magic_of_John_Williams_148628.asp
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Do pod casts still exist? How 2006....
Jay 46,244 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 You are out of touch if you feel that way. They are more popular now than ever
russds 8 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 This JW one is nice, it has a lot of audio clips, from sound tracks, from interviews with JW and Spielberg. They'll talk, then play some audio of an interview JW did, quoting him on something, then play a piece of the score, etc. It's nicely produced. Some of the movies covered: Black Sunday, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Clone Wars, ET, Indy 4.To anyone interested, here's the complete list of audio sources:The complete list of music used is:Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (three pieces, two referenced by name)Black SundayET (album and Hollywood Bowl 9/1/12 concert)Poltergeist (Goldsmith)Star Wars A New HopeStar Wars Attack of the ClonesTo Kill a Mockingbird (movie opening titles)and interviews:John Williams interviewed by the BBC's Tommy Pearson (2012)John Williams and Steven Spielberg AFI Master Class (2011)plus the Lincoln Trailer
Melange 448 Posted November 1, 2012 Posted November 1, 2012 Nothing regularly, but here is the sort of thing I occasionally check out.http://www.theoutdoorsstation.co.uk/category/podcasts/page/3/Each time I find myself in situations (such as on a long drive) where I'm just listening to the spoken word like plays or panel shows on Radio, I absolutely savour the unique atmosphere they have and always tell myself that I'm going to do this more often. Internet use tends to take over once back in the house though. Years ago I used to set aside time to just listen to Radio, but the temptation of Internet tends to win.
Trent Hoyt 13 Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 I always listen to podcasts when I drive now. They really kill the time and its like having your friends along for the ride with you.
Jay 46,244 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I always listen to podcasts when I drive to, unless I run out of unheard ones or I'm in the mood to rock out to something

Trent Hoyt 13 Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 I've been listening to a lot of The Nerdist and Tell 'Em Steve Dave recently.
bollemanneke 4,331 Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 I just discovered Back to the Future Minute Podcast... and am quietly deciding to start listening to it too.
