crumbs 16,007 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 http://movies.uk.msn.com/features/the-adventures-of-tintin-exclusive-trailerNew trailer that dissects the plot a bit more Just released today.Opening battle looks sensational.
Neimoidian 15 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Yes, it does. Thinking that it has been scored with JW's music really does make me happy.
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Man!!! Today is a banner day... new trailer and sample music wise.
Neimoidian 15 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Man!!! Today is a banner day... new trailer and sample music wise. If only didn't my efficiency at work suffer because of that.
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Man!!! Today is a banner day... new trailer and sample music wise. If only didn't my efficiency at work suffer because of that.Same here!
Jay 46,244 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Great to finally see the scenes from the Spanish trailer dubbed in English!Shame they are still using that damn Sands of Time music. That new theme from "The Adventure Continues" sample would be perfect!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Who cares Jason, its a trailer. A disposible object.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Anyone notice that it appears its not just a treasure they are looking for now, but a "power"?Seems as though they amped up the stakes a bit from the simple treasure hunt of the comics.
Brónach 1,330 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Yet Haddock mentions a treasure. I guess they are looking for a treasure, which contains a "Secret" they might had elaborated on.Or maybe it's just trailer exageration.
Maurizio 6,913 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Shame they are still using that damn Sands of Time music.Yes, too bad. They're also using it as background music on the newly-revamped international movie website:http://www.tintin-movie.net/site
Sedohr 0 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Anyone notice that it appears its not just a treasure they are looking for now, but a "power"?Seems as though they amped up the stakes a bit from the simple treasure hunt of the comics.Yes, it's a little unnerving. It seems a bit much to go from the treasure to "a power that could have changed the course of history".But then, Tintin is no strange to supernatural powers. Strange things happen in some of the books.
crumbs 16,007 Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 It wouldn't surprise me if they Indy-fied the "McGuffin" a bit.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Actually you mean Tim and Struppi.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 no Tim und Struppi means Tintin in German...or so Google says.
Brónach 1,330 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Yeah, Tintin only faces old Inca curses and goes to the Moon. But I keep thinking that it's just trailer advertisement. Back when I saw the TV spots for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull they kept announcing things about the film that weren't there.
King Mark 3,975 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I'm not watching the trailerseriously, the Tintin website has the Sand of Times music...seriously?
Brónach 1,330 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I could have picked better examples for what I said. Nah, the KOTCS was more a problem of the film itself than the ads. But I remember they made the lost city and some power hidden in it was very important. It wasn't like that, but because the film never got there.Yeah, Tintin only faces old Inca curses and goes to the Moon.Exactly! There are no undead pirates related to the Inca curses, and there are no Autobots on the Moon. Just a regular journalist dragged into extraordinary adventures.I don't think we're seeing anything supernatural on this one.But I want the undead mummy somewhere in the sequels...
indy4 160 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Based on the samples, it doesn't sound like any of the music was meant to really pump adrenaline. Which is fine, but it also explains why it wasn't used extensively in the trailers.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Yea I don't get why anyone would assume executives didn't like the score just because it wasn't used in the trailers. That's kinda silly
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 The making of trailers is almost a separate industry in itself. It can stand quite apart from the actual finished film.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 The trailer actually is very generic. Lots of quick cuts, mostly action based clips. They even have a narrator that sounds like that movie trailer voice guy that died a few years ago.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 yea I liked the older trailers better. I mean, I love the new footage shown, I just wish it was slower paced, and showed you more of each scene, instead of all the quick cutting
Sedohr 0 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Yeah, Tintin only faces old Inca curses and goes to the Moon. And gets involved with aliens and discovers a shooting stars with powers that could change the course of history.
Brónach 1,330 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 And has visions of friends in danger and finds the Abominable Snowman.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 This trailer can now be found on youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW6TkX1YOK8By the way I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but was that our first glimpse of Sir Francis at 0:15?
