#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Yes. And in my left ear i have a small cavity in my eardrum that wont close.
Josh500 1,620 Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 Well, sorry to hear that. And there's nothing medicine can do about it?
King Mark 3,975 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Ah, but Stefancos how can you differentiate the sound quality of various JW releasesBy the way, has anybody here experienced mild, moderate, or severe hearing loss at any point in your lives, temporary or not?I've had the flu the past week, and my ears feel funny ever since. They feel plugged somehow, and my hearing seems to have been reduced every so slightly, it seems...The worst thing that can happen to a JW fan is probably total hearing loss! maybe your sinuses are temporarily clogged, or you have an ear infection
Docteur Qui 1,581 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I eat junk, smoke, drink and take recreational drugs on occasion. I worry about my health, but I'm having too much fun to do anything about it. Plus, feeling guilty about it often makes me continue the bodily abuse. I know shouldn't wait until something's wrong to change my lifestyle, but I have weak willpower.

Josh500 1,620 Posted November 12, 2011 Author Posted November 12, 2011 maybe your sinuses are temporarily clogged, or you have an ear infectionYes, probably--hopefully.But the thing is, I've had the flu many times in my life, and my ears have never felt quite like this before. Hell, I am getting old.I eat junk, smoke, drink and take recreational drugs on occasion. I worry about my health, but I'm having too much fun to do anything about it. Plus, feeling guilty about it often makes me continue the bodily abuse. I know shouldn't wait until something's wrong to change my lifestyle, but I have weak willpower. The fun lasts until the doctor tells you with a grim face that you have been diagnosed with an early-stage cancer...Sure, it doesn't need to happen, but why take the chance? It's your life, and you've got only one!
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Exactly, so live it like every day is your last! I don't understand those people who go all out to stay absolutely fit, we're all gonna die. Live a little, eat that cheesecake!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 How old are you? Do you have kids?
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 See I don't get that eat a cheesecake nonsense anymore. Being healthy feels better than being stuffed fool of sugar unable to breathe. It's not about torturing yourself with cardboard flavored health foods...it's about maximizing feeling great. Moderation...not torture. Eat that cheesecake....but get a run in as well before. You'd be surprised how much better a cheesecake tastes when you've burned energy and are genuinely hungry. You have to get healthy to realize what you are missin out on. Only then can you come back and tell me doing whatever you want to your body all the time is living a little. It's not. It's miserable. Been there done that.

JoeinAR 1,957 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 you should always use mouthwash, even if it is just water with a bit of salt or peroxide. If you don't floss at all at least this will help especially if you rinse for a good 30 seconds or more. When you spit you'll see all kinds of debri you've loosened up. And you should brush once when you get up and once before bed at the least. I like to brush after particularly spicy meals.Remember a clean smelling mouth is much more appealing to kiss.

Live a little, eat that cheesecake!Sorry, but you sound like a dude who has not much in his life worth living for...You make it sound like eating that cheesecake (or hamburger, or pizza, or whatever) is the greatest joy in your life.Yes, we're all gonna die. The question is, you wanna die when you're 45 or 85? Don't you have loved ones? Parents? Kids? Wife or girlfriend?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Nothing wrong with a burger, pizza or some booze on occasion. As long as its not your main source of nutrition.Bacon tastes so good, i cannot believe it is bad for you...
Brónach 1,330 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Nope. I just could eat a ton of that and still be hungry. It's like eating paper. So I avoid it.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 That much is certain. Why does everything that feels or taste good eventually kill you?
Elmo Lewis 7 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Because you don't tend to abuse whatever feels or tastes bad.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Carrots or sprouts cannot kill you, whatever quantity you consume.
King Mark 3,975 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I eat junk food like burgers and a Pizza slice but I never order the fries. It's not much better but it's less carbs and doesn't make me gain weight
hornist 1,261 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Burgers and pizza are sometimes ok, I also quit the fries( it's impossible all over the world ; "you got also the fries free if you take the meal")From fast food I prefer the Kebab: I'm not sure you have it all over the world?
nightscape94 968 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I exercise 5-6 times a week. I eat to live, not live to eat. We go when we go, but I want to live my life feeling healthy, with energy, and bieng mentally and emotionally strong.

Brónach 1,330 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I never cared much for my diet but I'm starting to avoid cereals, specially wheat, and I'm eating more fruit and more meat than before. My ideal food, at any moment of the day, would be "dead animal + salad".
Ricard 2,671 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 You avoid cereals and eat more meat in order to become healthier?
Wojo 2,458 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Cereal is great. Bran keeps you regular.
Brónach 1,330 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 You avoid cereals and eat more meat in order to become healthier?I used to eat too few meat and fish. I need more fruit, meat, fishies, veggies (really love vegetables). I lived in an excess of cereals that was completely unnatural. Too much pasta, too much bread. Too much wheat... I hardly eat any bread now.A salad with chicken and a banana feels great for breakfast, for example. I'm really not satisfied anymore by some of the usuals anymore, they leave me hungry.
Naïve Old Fart 13,021 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Recently I feel as if Life is catching up with me. O.k., I don't look as good in a Speedo as I used to, but, what the hey. But I found out today that my mum has the big C. It is treatable, thank the maker, but even so, I guess it still comes as a shock. More and more, bad things seem to be happening to people who are closer and closer to me. It used to be great-great uncles and stuff, then it was happening to grandparents, then cousins, then my uncle, and now my mother. How soon will it catch up to me? Do I worry about my health? Well, there are some things that I can nothing about: when it's my time to go, it's my time to go. I just hope that the quality of my life on this planet has some sort of lasting value. I don't care about being remembered-I don't want a statue of me, for crying out loud (o.k., if I do, I jolly well hope that it's anatomically correct!) I just want to somehow rest in the knowledge that I made a difference to the world, however small. As for my health, I'm eating less, and I've lost weight. I don't drink, and I walk to most places. yeah, I feel o.k. I have absolutely no idea what life is going to hit me with next; I just hope that I have the strength to cope with it. In the meantime, I might just (re)take up my favourite sport. Now, where did I put that Speedo?

I just want to somehow rest in the knowledge that I made a difference to the world, however small. And how do you hope to achieve that?Sorry about your mom, by the way.An interesting question, Josh, and one which I am not sure how to answer.Sometimes, we don't know how our lives will affect others. By that standard, we are all links in a chain, forming one very, very large connection called The Human Race. Some people want to leave their mark on the world by some philanthropic gesture. personally, I think that most people who wish to do that, are self-serving, empty, and have a narcissistic personality disorder. I don't care if people don't remember me, but I hope that they may be affected by a certain kindness that I perhaps once showed, or take on board some advice imparted to them. What I'm trying to say, is that I hope that my actions and words somehow acquire their own meaning and importance, even if the source is forgotten. This informs my work ethic: that people remember the kindness showed, and not necessarily the person who showed it.I know that in the Big Scheme of things, I am virtually nothing, but I know who I love, and I know who loves me, and that gives me comfort, and the strenghth to carry on.I'm not sure if that answers your question, Josh, but it's the best I can do.

Few people are like that, sure, but bottom line is we need more philanthropic people. People may say (and believe) whatever they want, but money is still power. Without money, you can do or achieve NOTHING in this world. So wealthy people who give away a lot of money for the general good (say, Bill Gates) are to be applauded. Food, shelter, health care, etc. etc. - everything costs money. And there are many many people in the world who don't have enough to cover these basic needs.Note that I didn't say, though, that money is the most important thing... Koray Savas 2,260 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 You'll be remembered for creating a lot of polls.
Josh500 1,620 Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 You'll be remembered for creating a lot of polls. Yes. That's No. 2!
Naïve Old Fart 13,021 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I agree, but I also think that everyone should be philanthropic, and everyone should do what they can, not just the super-rich.I stand by what I posted.Does anyone think that these people who bulid empires don't care about what happens to them after they are dead? Of course they do, otherwise they would not make provision for these enterprises when, at last, they shuffle off this mortal coil."There are no roof-racks on hearses". O.k., I'm praraphrasing Don Henley, but he has a point: you can't take it with you. IMO, it is far better to remember the act, than the one who carried it out. There is another reason that I differ with previous posters, and it is this: The World can go to Hell. In fact, the World IS going to Hell. I work for a wordly organisation, but the work I do is, ultimately not done for, nor will be remembered, by that organisation.Without wishing to break the "no religion" rule, I'll say that I work for a "higher authority", and that underlines all my work, whether paid, or unpaid. My ultimate employer is not of this Earth.
ShowUStheHOOK 8 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I don't exactly over worry about mine, but I do worry about it. I was born with, and of course still have chronic Kidney disease. Its unreal what it can prevent you from doing... every day stuff thats easy for many people become almost impossible. This has five stages to it before the kidney actually dies and another transplant is needed or dialysis is started. Currently, test results show i'm in stage 3. Yeah, I get worried whenever anything happens that can speed up the process so to speak.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 I much prefer to eat meat over cereals, in fact I do. Avoid fish, it smells awful.this is a great time of year to eat, lots of great corn on the cob, fresh peas (field peas, white cream peas, blackeyed peas, even green peas), lots of great yellow squash. Not only do those taste great but they help keep you regular and provide tons of energy

It was so hard that even the painkillers didn't help so I pounded a bottle ofRom. So at 5 a.m. I finally got a sleep and next day's noon had appointment with my dentist. Of course with my luck the police stopped me andI had to make a blow to gauge, first time in my life( I must have been driven 3,7 billion kilometres). My legs were shaken but surprisingly thepointer of the meter didn't move!
