Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Perhaps Thundercats probably was what MV was referring to the "magical place" comment.
Jay 46,241 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Interestingly, the Thundercats post has been removed from LLL's Facebook
filmmusic 3,269 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Yes, I just saw that too.Strange! Maybe they deleted the post because it started being swamped by comments of people who were asking of the old Thundercats score? there were already a couple yesterday..

The Alfonso Arau directed romantic tale is set against the vineyard back drop of a post WWII Napa Valley where a soldier falls in love with an unwed, pregnant Mexican-American woman. The lush, almost fairy tale visuals of cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki provide the perfect images for Jarre to compose music that speaks to the heart. Filled with sweeping, colorful themes, this newly expanded edition clocks in at 72 minutes, doubling the running time of previous releases. Julie Kirgo takes the listeners behind the scenes of the film and its music while Dan Goldwasser’s art direction shows off just how beautiful the film looks. Both cds go on sale next Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 1 pm PST atwww.lalalandrecords.comSound clips, track listings and cover art will be posted then. What better way to say BE MINE than by picking up the music of Apes and Keanu for a loved one?
crocodile 9,724 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Definitely getting Planet of the Apes, especially at this price. Karol
Incanus 5,890 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I'm hooked on this score.I knew it! It is another clever hint that Hook is coming soon!!!
filmmusic 3,269 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 ok, planet of the apes is 3 cds..Breakdown was 3 cds..IF Hook is a 2 cd, well... no comment....
Trent B 354 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 $20 for a 3-CD set? That definitely is a nice price. I wonder what the 3rd disc is... perhaps Disc 1 and 2 is the complete score with Disc 3 being the OST and alternates?
OneBuckFilms 517 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Apes is $29.98. Discs 1 and 2 are the complete score+alternates, Disc 3 is the OST album.Ooooh, I want.
Trent B 354 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Oh oops okay the other score is $20. Well still $30 for a 3-CD set is still a good price.

airmanjerm 84 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 So now LLL has posted (on Facebook) a link to buy the "Hook" Blu-Ray on Amazon.Maybe just toying with all the people who posted "I can't believe it's not Hook" comments on their Planet of the Apes/Walk in the Clouds announcement.
publicist 4,650 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 ok, planet of the apes is 3 cds..Breakdown was 3 cds..IF Hook is a 2 cd, well... no comment.... LLL is bound by some strange contract stuff with Sony. It's not that they are desperate to release 3 CD's of stuff like POTA.
John Crichton 4 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 MV sure is loving playing with everyone on the Hook thing. I approve.Apes is slightly tempting. Never been a huge Elfman fan but I've been getting more and more into Batman recently.
Jay 46,241 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Both of his Batman scores are really awesome. Check out his recent Cirque De Soleil CD called "Iris" as well
tharpdevenport 4 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 If I had a job and money to justget CD's randomly, I'd skip the POTA and get the Jarre.
Wojo 2,458 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I bought the POTA OST for $1 six months ago and haven't listened to it. I have a week to do my homework. But I certainly like "most beautiful and powerful" Jarre.
indy4 160 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 PotA has some wonderfully inventive cues (i.e. "Main Title" and "The Hunt"), but as a whole the score bores me.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,383 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Cant take your atonal scores?
indy4 160 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Cant take your atonal scores?Planet of the Apes isn't atonal...
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Goldsmith's is, Elfman's most certainly is not.
indy4 160 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Yup, and we're talking about Elfman's. Pay attention Stefan!
Wojo 2,458 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 He might hold the Goldsmith nearer to his heart. "There is no comparison."
lonzoe 19 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I think Elfman's POTA score rivals Goldsmith's original , imo. And I'm not kidding. I enjoy them both equally.
publicist 4,650 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 PS: since yesterday, LLL's facebook page innocously advertises HOOK's blu-ray release.Cruel tease or shape of things to come?
Incanus 5,890 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 PS: since yesterday, LLL's facebook page innocously advertises HOOK's blu-ray release.Cruel tease or shape of things to come? Both I think.
SF1_freeze 138 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 They can't be THAT cruel... Hook has to come finally
indy4 160 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Does LLL usually post links to cheap Blu Rays on Facebook? If not, then I'd say we can expect Hook soon.
indy4 160 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Under a post that wished JW a happy birthday, LLL made this comment:Wouldn't today be the perfect today for someone to announce an expanded Hook?
Xander Harris 9,673 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I've been thinking that if it happens, it will only be expanded, not complete.
tharpdevenport 4 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I'm enjoying this movie, "Flail Hard: With A Vengeance".
Trent B 354 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I would not be surprised if it's a tie into the inevitable complete release for the score.
tharpdevenport 4 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Over here there's only four hours of "today" left.
Admiral Holdo 16 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Has MV ever announced something ahead of schedule? (Aside from other people leaking titles and him going "Yeah, we're doing that")EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I know he's joking, it's just a question.
tharpdevenport 4 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I think there were a few times; because stuff was leaked and he confirmed it, so that's a sort of "announcement", and I think there was a batch of two announced early for various reasons (holidays or some such). I don't really recall now.
indy4 160 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 It's February 10th in America, I'm sure this was just meant to increase anticipation even more for the eventual announcement.
tharpdevenport 4 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 36 minutes into the new day.Where's your "Hook" now???MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
John Crichton 4 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I see people are still obsessing way too much over when/if Hook will be released. Patience, we'll get it eventually.
indy4 160 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I see people are still obsessing way too much over when/if Hook will be released. Patience, we'll get it eventually. What recent posts qualify as over obsession? It all seems like perfectly reasonable speculation to me.
Nemesis 301 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I am prepared. When the announcing of Hook is coming another journey is going to an end.I just hope they release that damn thing complete and with alternates. At least 3 CD's.Wonder too what posts qualify as over obsession?
indy4 160 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I hope they release the songs recorded for the musical.
Score_Fan 37 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 When's the next LLLR album out anyways? I forgot..
indy4 160 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Feb 28...I believe the next 3 are announced then.
Incanus 5,890 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I hope they release the songs recorded for the musical. Were there any recorded before Spielberg scrapped the whole idea of the musical? I always thought that only the melodies of some of the songs survived as themes in the score if not counting We Don't Wanna Grow Up and When You're Alone, only songs making it into the film.
