King Mark 3,975 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Well, he's one of the top candidates for sure
Xander Harris 9,674 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Yes and Dustin Hoffman as Goldsmith for their eventual fight scene.
ShowUStheHOOK 8 Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 Yes and Dustin Hoffman as Goldsmith for their eventual fight scene.YES. lol. oddly, if you see photos of goldsmith when he was younger, Hoffman does semi resemble him.
Marian Schedenig 11,694 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 These should be officially listed as FAQs.
King Mark 3,975 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 JW should score his own movie, expanding JW's theme he wrote for the Japanese Fan Club
hornist 1,261 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 This would be great on marketing the movie: "John Williams as John Williams"
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Didn't we do this like...8 times already?I mean it was fun in 2004...
chuck 155 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 What about the other composers? How about John C. McGinley as Henry Mancini?Jay Baruchel as Elmer Bernstein?
Marian Schedenig 11,694 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Jay Baruchel as Elmer Bernstein? And Donnelly Rhodes as the old Bernstein:
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 The noses are remarkably similar.
Incanus 5,890 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 The noses are remarkably similar. He could be Bernstein's close-up nose double.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I've met Gia. his personality could not be different from the wise-cracking characters Vaugh usually portrays...
alicebrallice 134 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 in úbeda, I presume? I'm jealous. tell me more! you didn't get a chance to speak with him, did you?
hornist 1,261 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 If they will make one of Santaolalla my choice would be:GustavoJorgeI'm definitely not going to watch this one. I hate comedies.
Luke Skywalker 2,383 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 in úbeda, I presume? I'm jealous. tell me more! you didn't get a chance to speak with him, did you?Personally, no. (well i could take a photo with him) i was forbidden by the organisation. I wanted to record him giving salutes to 'his fans at JWfan'. but when i called him in one of the breaks the organiser got him to the vip room, he didnt notice On the questions time after his speech, I was the one who asked him how he came with the idea of all those puns in his tracklists...and i think i ruined the magic for everyone His sister made us a personal small interview though... how embarrasing, i wonder what Michael thought when he saw that...

JoeinAR 1,957 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I do not want to see a movie about John Williams! A documentary yes, a fictionalized film, no way.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 His life is too boring for a film.
Incanus 5,890 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 His life is too boring for a film. Most of the movie would be one score writing montage after another. A few clips of Boston Pops intrigue and then more monastic writing in his studio.
ShowUStheHOOK 8 Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 I do not want to see a movie about John Williams! A documentary yes, a fictionalized film, no way.Good point, since they ( hollywood ) had to fictionalize the lives of the classic composers already. WHo knows what they would make williams out to be. I can see it now " actually if you didn't know Williams was the inspiration behind indiana jones. While working on star wars, wlliams reveled to lucas his secret side job as an archaeologist ..."
Brónach 1,330 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 His life is too boring for a film.I was thinking a similar thing
chuck 155 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Martin Landau as Lionel Newman:Victor Garber as Bernard Herrmann:
movied 24 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Slightly unrealistic, but the resemblance is uncanny.
Thor 9,362 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 For Danny Elfman, I've always pictured Jason Flemyng:
Thor 9,362 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Must admit there are a few here where I don't really see the resemblance -- young Bernstein, Giacchino/Vaugn, Portman/Defoe (obviously a joke), Herrmann and Previn.Btw, for Herrmann, I think Hamlisch could have been a good choice, had he been an actor:But if you had to go with an actor, I'd choose Michael Lerner:And if they ever make a film about Pope Benedict, get Robert Blake out of prison, he, he....
ShowUStheHOOK 8 Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 Martin Landau as Lionel Newman:I was thinking more along the lines of Steve Kahan for Lionel Newman
movied 24 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I sure hope Kevin Connolly will play Michael Kamen.
Thor 9,362 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Interestingly, Connolly played a film composer in an episode of COLUMBO. Michael Kamen was the the one who immediately came to my mind as well while I saw that.
chuck 155 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I sure hope Kevin Connolly will play Michael Kamen. That's Billy Connolly.
movied 24 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Yes yes, it's Billy Connolly. He's going to be in both Brave AND The Hobbit! Kevin Connolly is a real person at least....I'm not going thaaaat crazy.
chuck 155 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Yes yes, it's Billy Connolly. He's going to be in both Brave AND The Hobbit! Kevin Connolly is a real person at least....I'm not going thaaaat crazy.Dude, you're losing it.
Wojo 2,458 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Kevin Connolly was on Entourage and Unhappily Ever After. Next question.
hornist 1,261 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Kevin Connolly was on Entourage and Unhappily Ever After. Next question. How far the Penguins will get on the playoffs?
