Jay 46,244 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 First details on AUJ's Blu Ray featureshttp://collider.com/the-hobbit-blu-ray-details/224923/Also bluray.com says the release date in the USA is March 22nd:http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Hobbit-An-Unexpected-Journey-Blu-ray/8529/I believe the Extended Edition isn't coming out until Q4
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I believe the Extended Edition isn't coming out until Q4If they follow the pattern of LOTR, it will be released shortly before the next film, as part of the buzz....
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 How can they say that, and defend bringing back Legolas?
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 And Gollum! Good god, worst fan service scene I ever saw in a movie!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 That is nonsense. Gollum was in the book. All they did was stray bit a bit from the actual text and use the slightly different "film" Gollum. With more emphasis on the Slinker/Stinker angle.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 We tried to be careful that we didn’t do that too much.Obviously for bloodbald, the failed, and failed miserably.
gkgyver 1,647 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 How can they say that, and defend bringing back Legolas?Seeing how this trilogy is shaping up, that is easily the most negligible addition. After all, he is Thranduil's son.The many small nods in the film are more bothersome in their small irksome relentlessness.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Who is Thranduil? There is no such character in The Hobbit?Tauriel? Who???
KK 3,313 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I can already imagine all the references to the "Leggy" moments they'll make. Who knows what crazy stunt they'll give him this time.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 He will ride Smaug.
tpigeon 3 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 So long that we're link-sharing, here's a link to an essay I recently wrote about An Unexpected Journey. http://www.slantmagazine.com/house/2013/01/critical-distance-the-hobbit-an-unexpected-journey/Problematic though it is, I quite enjoyed the movie. alicebrallice 134 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 so chaac, when's your review coming?
Brónach 1,330 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I wasn't thinking on writting one. It'd probably just read like a mix of many other reviews.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Put in some effort man!
Nick1Ø66 8,330 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I wasn't thinking on writting one. It'd probably just read like a mix of many other reviews. There are a lot of reviews out there, but there's always room for one more well-written one. Especially of this film.
alicebrallice 134 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 yes!and maybe that's why he's feeling down? he saw the film, he didn't like it and that was that. he's suppressing all of his emotions! let it out, man.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Yes!The Hobbit it shit!Repeat after me!THE HOBBIT IS SHIT!
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I wasn't thinking on writting one. It'd probably just read like a mix of many other reviews.
Quintus 6,496 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Chaac's reaction to everything always seems so pained. Maybe the jet black hair dye and eyeliner are imminent in his life.
Brónach 1,330 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 I don't think so.Okay, I'll write a review.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Contains spoilers if you haven't read the bookMany here thought that the "bromance" between Bilbo and Thorin was a bit overdone. That in comparison to the book it cemented that relationship far too early.PJ has a habbit of intensifying the emotions that do appear in Tolkien's books, milking them.I'm guessing in the second film Bilbo and Thorin will grow really close, and after Bilbo takes the Arkenstone, and sort of switches sides, Thorin will feel more deeply betrayed. Leading to him acting out of pride, leading to his eventual downfall....
Quintus 6,496 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Thorin will be revealed to be the long lost brother of Grishnákh, who will be revealed as the bastard child of Sauron and Galadrial. The third movie will be about the reconciliation of that ancient unspoken love and the reunion of the family, finally bridging the gap to LOTR in a finale which will see Galadrial throw Sauron's wardrobe contents out the bedroom window after a huge row about her wedding Ring, the fade to black into credits lingering on a foreboding shot of Sauron trudging toward Mordor, heartbroken. Quintus 6,496 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Three of the Dwarves just look like regular blokes who like to hang out with dwarves.
chuck 155 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Does everybody pronounced that as Jewfanner?
