We tried to be careful that we didn’t do that too much.

Obviously for bloodbald, the failed, and failed miserably.

How can they say that, and defend bringing back Legolas?

Seeing how this trilogy is shaping up, that is easily the most negligible addition. After all, he is Thranduil's son.

The many small nods in the film are more bothersome in their small irksome relentlessness.

I can already imagine all the references to the "Leggy" moments they'll make. Who knows what crazy stunt they'll give him this time.

Bookmarked. Thanks, T.

I'll post back here my thoughts on your review later.

I wasn't thinking on writting one. It'd probably just read like a mix of many other reviews.

There are a lot of reviews out there, but there's always room for one more well-written one. Especially of this film.

yes!

and maybe that's why he's feeling down? he saw the film, he didn't like it and that was that. he's suppressing all of his emotions! let it out, man.

Chaac's reaction to everything always seems so pained. Maybe the jet black hair dye and eyeliner are imminent in his life.

Contains spoilers if you haven't read the book

Many here thought that the "bromance" between Bilbo and Thorin was a bit overdone.

That in comparison to the book it cemented that relationship far too early.

PJ has a habbit of intensifying the emotions that do appear in Tolkien's books, milking them.

I'm guessing in the second film Bilbo and Thorin will grow really close, and after Bilbo takes the Arkenstone, and sort of switches sides, Thorin will feel more deeply betrayed. Leading to him acting out of pride, leading to his eventual downfall....

Thorin will be revealed to be the long lost brother of Grishnákh, who will be revealed as the bastard child of Sauron and Galadrial.

The third movie will be about the reconciliation of that ancient unspoken love and the reunion of the family, finally bridging the gap to LOTR in a finale which will see Galadrial throw Sauron's wardrobe contents out the bedroom window after a huge row about her wedding Ring, the fade to black into credits lingering on a foreboding shot of Sauron trudging toward Mordor, heartbroken.
