Popular Post Captain_Ken 4 Posted January 30, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 30, 2013 I see Lucasfilm has announced that Disney will be producing a seventh Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Episode VII. No timeline has been given, but I hope John Williams is still around to write the music. Any new SW trilogy wouldn't be the same without him. Nick1Ø66, alicebrallice, Quintus and 1 other 4
Nick1Ø66 8,330 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 You forgot to put "BREAKING" in the thread title.
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 WHAT? A new Star Wars movie? This is clearly a hoax!
Nick1Ø66 8,330 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Do they know who the director will be yet? Or too soon?
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 It has to be Spielberg! Spielberg or death!
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Rumor has it Giacchino will direct, and J.J. abrams will score it.
KK 3,313 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Abrams? There's no way he'll get his hands on this project!I think Snyder will direct it.
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Rumor has it Giacchino will direct, and J.J. abrams will score it.FAKE!
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Abrams? There's no way he'll get his hands on this project!I think Snyder will score it.Howard Shore will direct then.
KK 3,313 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Ya, I heard rumours that Howard Shore will compose. Although Hans Zimmer has apparently been dropping hints about Star Wars.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Ya, I heard rumours that Howard Shore will compose. Although Hans Zimmer has apparently been dropping hints about Star Wars."You have reading problems mister?"Howard Shore will DIRECT, not compose.
Jay 46,243 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 So wait - DISNEY has the rights to Star Wars now??? When did this happen!?
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Yesterday.Didn't you hear? a little birdy named Doug Adams tweeted it.
Uni 307 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 It'll never happen. Word on the street says the world's going to end in 2012.- Uni alicebrallice 1
Jay 46,243 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 So you mean I'll never find out if Mr. Bates gets out of jail?
Delorean90 47 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Bad news: Jerry Bruckheimer's got the producing gig. In a press release he announced that he's also going to cut out the middle man and direct, edit, and compose.
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 And we wonder why new members who stick around are so rare.
scallenger 665 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 You know I also heard John Williams MIGHT compose the music for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2... if his schedule allows it. Let's pray it happens, people! I think it really might. Maybe Yates will let him score an early cut!
Datameister 2,586 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 You know I also heard John Williams MIGHT compose the music for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2... if his schedule allows it. Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 It will never happen, Hans Zimmer will summon the Kraken to take Williams out of the running.
Jay 46,243 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 If Disney owns Star Wars now maybe Intrada can release remastered and expanded edition of all the old scores!
Datameister 2,586 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 As if...they'll have better luck trying to get the rights to BTTF or something!
scallenger 665 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Back to the Future will never get a release. Let's get that straight right now...Nor will Gremlins.Or Goonies. And certainly not ANY of those Star Trek scores!Don't even THINK about William's own 1941. When will that come out? More like 2041.
Xander Harris 9,674 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that Jeff Goldblum fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set. Specific details are not yet available.
wanner251 18 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 It will never happen, Hans Zimmer will summon the Kraken to take Williams out of the running.Yes, with the opening of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor, like he wrote for Dead Man's Chest....
chuck 155 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I'm waiting for the announcement that justin bieber has been cast as Jacen Solo in Episode VII.
Popular Post Incanus 5,890 Posted January 31, 2013 Popular Post Posted January 31, 2013 This thread is equivalent of someone coming in enthused and happy to share some news and suddenly getting a million slaps on both cheeks with a half rotten haddock. No wonder indeed that new members might be a little intimidated to join the discussion.Even though this is a bit old news when we already have the director annoucement for the project and it is well on the way, the way this thread turned into a joke is a bit much. Incanus 5,890 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 The only joke in this thread is you!Ouch BloodBoal! That was weak. Surely you can do better.
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I can, but I'm too tired to try, right now.
Quintus 6,495 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 With this and the filming of Indiana Jones 4 finally getting underway we're in for a big treat next summer!

The joke was a little funny for the first few people who got in on it. It was tired by the time Giacchino was mentioned, and definitely jumped the shark by the time Goldblum's name appeared. The first person who spills paint on canvas and calls it art is a genius; the second, an idiot. After that you're just unoriginal, which is worse than being an idiot.
Quintus 6,495 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Don't be getting ideas above your station, Nick66!
Nick1Ø66 8,330 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Don't be getting ideas above your station, Nick66!Look into my eye.
Quintus 6,495 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 How many drops is this for you? Combat ones, I mean.
Nick1Ø66 8,330 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 How many drops is this for you? Combat ones, I mean.Thirty eight...simulated.
Quintus 6,495 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 How many drops is this for you? Combat ones, I mean.Thirty eight...simulated.Shiiiit...
Naïve Old Fart 13,021 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 If J.J. Abrams is directing, then Giacchino will score. That is a given. I think he will do a good, if not great, job.
Jay 46,243 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 In all seriousness Captain_Ken, the news that Disney bought Lucasfilm and would be making a new Star Wars movie broke on October 30th of last year and the thread we discussed it in is here:http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22303And it was announced last week that JJ Abrams would be directing it, and we are discussing that in this thread here:http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=22802
