wanner251 18 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Anyone seen this pop up?http://www.forbes.com/sites/carolpinchefsky/2012/01/31/new-monty-python-movie-announced-and-there-was-much-rejoicing/Sounds awesome if it comes to fruition!
Once 1,083 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Well, they're only voicing characters, not actually playing any. Terry Jones has stated that it's not a Python-film, and last thing I heard was that Idle wasn't very keen on doing it.
Quintus 6,496 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Bullshit. Even if it did happen; Indiana Jones 4 proved that old people shouldn't be trusted with serious money to hang out together. And yet I'd love nothing more than to see Michael Palin build another castle in a swamp.
wanner251 18 Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 And yet I'd love nothing more than to see Michael Palin build another castle in a swamp.Well put! "That one burned down, fell over, THEN sank into the swamp, but the FOURTH one..... stayed up" But, about the bullshit part, I'm not sure if Forbes is a relayer of such things.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 The difference between this and Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is that George Lucas has nothing to do with it. Count me in. Gilliam never really associated himself with anything he wasn't personally invested in.
publicist 4,650 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Which sadly did not result in greatness all too often.
A24 5,156 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 How's that The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus movie of his? The Blu-ray is like 5.99 Euro.
publicist 4,650 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 All over the place...you long for a strong guiding hand forcing Gilliam to set his house in order. As it is, it has some remarkable visuals (and some less) in bad need of an arc.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I haven't seen it since theaters but I really enjoyed it.
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I talked to Terry [Gilliam] about it at one point as a part of a larger conversation about us trying to find something to do together because I have such admiration for him. I’m as huge a fan of these movies as anybody else who would be reading this or watching them, so what I said to him was, 'Let’s not do that unless we have something amazing to do or to say.'History repeats itself...
Quintus 6,496 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Cleese was historically the Python most adverse to a reunion but since he was ordered to pay his ex 12mil plus 600,000 every year for seven years he's been taking any work he can get, as he has openly admitted and joked about on chat shows. In the UK he's a regular on commercials where he can either be seen or heard, or playing characters in video games. That's why this is potentially happening.
publicist 4,650 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Let me guess: 12mil = american court. This country never ceases to amaze/frighten me.
wanner251 18 Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 All the more reason for it to be fantastic...
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I suppose it's zany too.Well it's Gilliam. I think it's worth watching just for Tom Waits. Marian Schedenig 1
