JoeinAR 1,957 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 We have enough here. That and Chinese restaurants.I think I'm going to have a salad and green onions tonight. I'm actually starting to lose weight, 10 lbs so far.we have lots of mex mex places but they are not what I want.
alicebrallice 134 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 a spanish friend who just returned from his vacation in spain had bought me this:chaac, what would you recommend to drink with it? tea? coffee? milk? water?!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 we have lots of mex mex places but they are not what I want.Had tex mex once in Amsterdam. Everything had brown beans in it....I had those in Madrid with a cup of coffee. But I dunno if that's the best way to eat them
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 you most likely didn't have tex mex then. brown beans are not in everything in tex mex.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 the restaurant was called Tex Mex!
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 maybe that was it's name but it was not tex mex.there was a place nearby that said it was tex mex, it was mex mex. so different.here is where I want to eathttp://www.abuelos.com/menuI want the Grande, or the Chicken, Beef, and Pork fajitas.with cheese dip as a starter, and their delicious salsa
alicebrallice 134 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I had those in Madrid with a cup of coffee. But I dunno if that's the best way to eat themmkay! it's pretty late but I do have a couple of decaffeinato capsules left. I'll try it out.
Brónach 1,330 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 In my case I just eat that as is, around Christmas, accopanied by... more types of turrón and chocolate, after eating/lunch. People drink coffee at that point so maybe do that if you like coffee. I don't like coffee so I can't tell. alicebrallice 1
gkgyver 1,647 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I'm not a fan of olives or mushrooms. For me they need to be eaten in very limited quantities for me to enjoy them. I hate when I get a pizza and there are more olives than cheese (happens at Costco sometimes). Gotta pick all that shit out. I like a handful of them, same with mushrooms.I like olives when they are real black olives, not the artificially blackened ones. I had some a week or so ago at my sister's wedding, untampered olives from Greece, and they taste completely unlike the nasty stuff that floods pizzas these days.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 yesterday someone at work heated something. Never saw what it was but it smelled like a big pot of green beans with new potatoes. So today I got a pound of green beans and when I get home I will through them in a pot and let them cook with some new potatoes and so pork jowels until they are done about...an hour and a half, two at most. It will make the house smell heavenly.
alicebrallice 134 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 my first attempt at a blue/purple ombre cake (with a nutella, hazelnut and raspberry filling): it was tasty though.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 looks great!
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 If only AI were here to tell you how you store bought it!
alicebrallice 134 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 the icing looks delicious.hehe... it's vanilla whipped cream If only AI were here to tell you how you store bought it!haha yes! I actually do miss him.
Brónach 1,330 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I prepared hot chocolate. I'd make more but I ran out of chocolate.
Quintus 6,496 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I took some butter out of the fridge. I don't really know why.
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Rub it all over yourself and hop in bed.
Quintus 6,496 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I opened a jar of pickles, but there was only two left.
alicebrallice 134 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 hehehe... I see what you did there.
Quintus 6,496 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I felt a bit peckish so I ate a dry cracker. The packet was sealed up until then.
Brónach 1,330 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I read a post in a forum. It was a guy mocking me.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 That much is certain
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I had a sausage biscuit with mustard. DEEElicious
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Sausage biscuit?
ShowUStheHOOK 8 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I had a sausage biscuit with mustard. DEEEliciouswith mustard?
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 yes, a sausage patty on a biscuit with mustard.I like a little sausage with my mustard.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Ah a hamburger....
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 no, not a hamburger. Hamburgers are made of beef, and they are on buns, not biscuits, two completely different forms of bread.Breakfast sausage is made of pork. And the portion is much smaller than an hamburger.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Ah a porkburger, very good!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Chicken burgers don't. Fish burgers don't!
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Chicken burgers don't. Fish burgers don't!burgers don't contain fish or chicken, those would be fish or chicken patties, whole pieces of fish or chicken are fish or chicken sandwiches.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 My understanding of a burger is that it is the form of the meat. They have veggie burgers and turkey burgers and bison burgers. So it's just another word for patty. Hamburger has beef.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 lets not even discuss veggie burgers, but simply acknowledge it's inventor will burn in hell for EVER.
Wojo 2,458 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 A burger is a fragment of a bigger word that came to stand for something vague. The hamburger is named after Hamburg, Germany, a commonly accepted origin of the dish. It has nothing to do with ham because beef is cattle, but it stuck. Add cheese, you get cheeseburger, and thus burger can be assigned to other ingredients as well.
Brónach 1,330 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Morcilla (rice variety) with quail eggs, ham, a banana, yogurt, fried squid rings. I'll probably make hot chocolate in a pair of hours.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 had a pepperoni and mushroom pizza.Tomorrow going to the Rock, going to have Tex mex,Tomorrow night going to the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Night at the Movies.Star Wars and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, along with Titanic, West Side Story, The Godfather, Pirates of the Caribbean and more.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 Have fun Joe
