What the fuck is going on here? Picky bunch of prats! I eat the whole egg!

We're people, individuals. It's our nature and our right to be choosy. You after all eat offals,

Dude, you think corn is manna from Heaven!

you've probably never had good corn,

you should try some fresh peaches and cream variety, oh wait you're European it's not available there, ever. unless you fly it over on the concorde the day it's picked..

It's that whole local thing. sadly even when you come to America in June, the corn isn't ready in the Boston area, it's close but 3 or 4 weeks out. But try some fresh local whole belly fried clams. it's local, and try the onion rings, don't believe there is state with better onion rings than Massachusetts.

Sigh....

Sure, go ahead and mock me!

when you present something on a silver platter you cannot NOT expect people to take from it.

Feta combined with something else is fine, actually gives it character. Not sure i would eat JUST feta, like i sometimes eat JUST other types of cheese

Et tu, Joseph?

yes, and cubes of marinated feta with cubes of marinated mozzerella, procuitto, and oiled soaked olives are a natural set.

whole milk is wonderfully good for the body, or so I've heard, I expect to be told otherwise though.

I typically keep a half gallon of 2% in the fridge, mostly for cooking but also because I like it, along with a half gallon of vanilla almond or soy milk sometimes as a treat or often for cereal or coffee for extra flavor. I don't have to be a slave to skim milk as long as I'm the one buying food for me, but I'm not sure I would want to drink whole milk all the time.

According to some Milk should not be drunk by humans because it's not natural for us to do so.

These are the same people that fly planes, drive cars, wear shoes or take a hot shower....

I know why it wouldn't be natural. It has worked well with babies so far!

I barely drink milk these days, though. I seem to have mostly shifted to cheese and yogurt.

soy or almond milk cappuccinos are awesome.

I cannot bring myself to try something as unnatural as soy milk.

It's okay. Has an odd taste with no where near the amount of drinkability as traditional milk.

Speaking of, I only drink skim milk. Looks like I'm the only one here.

I'm having roast lamb leg tonight. Leeks, parnsips, brussels sprouts, broccoli, carrots, leeks, peas and all kinds of other veg! :)

And wine too!

Skim milk, traditional milk, you say?

All skim milk I've seen looks like white paint with water. Even "whole milk" seems to be missing the cream aspect I'd like to have.

Skim milk is like a light beer, paying good money for less product, which is a weak tradition. I would rather just have water than either beverage.

I found a nice 2-1/2 chicken yesterday, soaked it in buttermilk and then southern fried it. We had green beans with baby new potatoes, the most delicious corn on the cobb, we both ate 2 ears. Also some mashed potatoes and yellow squash. Dave asked where the rolls where but with as much food as I cooked we didn't need any bread. I had lots of left overs. I'll make potato pancakes out of the left over mashed potatoes. probably do breakfast one night this week.

Seeing the egg so close to ketchup reminds me: does anyone else like omlettes with ketchup?

Posted

I almost always put either ketchup or salsa on my scrambled eggs/ omelettes.

Posted

I like my omelette with cheese inside.

If not, then fried eggs.

If fried eggs not satisfying, must do a Spanish omelette.

No ketchup.
