Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 What the hell? Did I miss some rules or something? How does this work?
ChrisAfonso 237 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 There's the first note (the upbeat) missing from the AI example, though...
Richard P 5,303 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Something's not right with the A.I. one. The note sequence for the end looks right but the start doesn't...
hornist 1,261 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Yes , as ChrisAfonso said there's upbeat missing ( G - G octave) the rest is ok...
Richard P 5,303 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Ah, I see now, I was misunderstanding the octave changes.
John McClane 1 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Hey, that's not fair! Not everybody can read music!
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Everybody can learn to. But I still don't understand the rules of the game. First a series of questions is posted, then tons of people answer totally different questions, and only then they start answering the original questions? :?
Richard P 5,303 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Hey, that's not fair! Not everybody can read music! I can't. I just have a really basic knowledge of where the C note is on my keyboard and can work it out from there
Mr. Breathmask 624 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 That's really all you need if it's written in letters like this anyway.
Marian Schedenig 11,695 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 And as proper notation it's not much more difficult. You have to know the location of one base note (e.g. G for the treble clef), and how to distinguish the various note lengths. "Counting" the distance in keys on a keyboard gets much easier then, because you can actually count the lines, instead of counting through letters (which gets even more difficult when the range exceeds an octave).
John McClane 1 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 In the Leaderboard you forgot ChrisAfonso who got the free point.

ChrisAfonso 237 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Yeah, that is from Bot4J.If the other one is from AtS it has a wrong note, though, the second one must be an Eb... and the sample cuts off in themiddle of the theme...
OrchDork 0 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 That fifth one is from Hook, not AotC. It's the pirate theme, not AtS. It's the opening horn melody in the concert version of Flight to Neverland. You can also find it at about the 2:20 mark of "Hook-Napped" from the OST.And I'm pretty sure the last one is from Presumed Innocent. It's found in the opening piano solo in the End Titles, among other places.
John McClane 1 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 In the Leaderboard you forgot ChrisAfonso who got the free point.I didn't "forget" anything, thanks very much.A promise is a promise, mama always said. You removed that from the original first post!
ChrisAfonso 237 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Tommy, the fine print was ambiguous and I just made fun of it The meaning was that the one who posts the first challenge (robthehand with his movie quote) got the free point.
Red 75 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 That fifth one is from Hook, not AotC. Â It's the pirate theme, not AtS. Â It's the opening horn melody in the concert version of Flight to Neverland. Â You can also find it at about the 2:20 mark of "Hook-Napped" from the OST.That theme is commonly referred to as the Prologue theme or confrontational theme. The pirate theme appears only in "Presenting the Hook" in OST.
David Vincent 8 Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 That theme is commonly referred to as the Prologue themeI never noticed the similarity with Across the Stars before. It is really amazing.

Only AI didn't get the joke I guess.
