Tom Cruise sucks.

K.M.

from what I heard he does, but he prefers to be on the receiving end even more.

Posted

My friends all love him. They all think he's tall, seductively handsome and full of varied personality and characterisation in every film he does. I hate my friends.

Posted

I don't see any purpose for this thread, it's just going to turn into a bash fest

I only started this thread so that we can separate this discussion about Tom Cruise away from the Minory Report Original Soundtrack [OST] Thread considering Minory Report OST thread is about the Original Soundtrack Album.

Well If you don't want to use this Official Tom Cruise Thread then everyone might as well drop the discussion about Tom Cruise or go back to Minory Report OST thread and continue going off topic until Marc the moderator comes along and sort things out . Yes Tom Cruise is in the movie Minory Report and others movies that John Williams done the music to but what has Tom Cruise got to do with the the Minory Report OST?

His picture is on it.

Yeah so....what about the picture of Tom Cruise on the front album cover? What that's got to do with the music?

Posted

its lessens it.

Drax, Tom isn't tall so tell your friends he's a short little feygala.

and ?man, why do you care, Tom is a gay man pretending to be a straight man, who had his selected wife artificily insemenated. Its obviously his child, most likely a product of some genetic engineering, because we know he's incapable of procreating in the normal fashion

The music scores his character, and his character is Tom Cruise.

You should have seen their faces turn from giggly and happy to shock horror and denial when I told them that. It was as is if all future Christmas' were cancelled.

I have never had a problem with Tom Cruise, I think he is a fantastic actor, I have seen every film he has ever been in, and he was always good. I like so many of his films, Cocktail, Born on the Fourth, Risky Business, Rainman.

If you put any person under extreme scrutiny, such as TC has been, you will find cracks. He is just a guy after all, he can make mistakes, but they are amplified by the media. That's the price you pay for being in the spotlight of media, but he surely didn't know it before he got involved.

Same here. I reckon he is a good actor but I don't know him and I don't what he like in the real world.

Posted

I don't read the tabloids so I don't know what kind of guy he is

out of the camera.I know so many poorer actors in the industry.

It isn't Toms fault that some like he's handsome.

As an actor - He is allright. Not the best one, of course, but not as bad as some would like to assume. He can be really good if he works with a capable director.

As a person - I feel pity for him. He must have felt so miserable in his life that he got himself mired in this ridiculous sect.

He's a good actor in my book. Never seen a truly amazing performance from him but he's ok.

He seems very arrogant to me as a person though. I read on the War of the Worlds trivia page at IMDB (no comments please) that he allowed loads of gathering fans to queue to get his autograph. That just seems so pompous to me, and a blatant expression that he thinks he's great.

Actually, I hate that trait among most celebrities :D

Personally I don't allow myself to get caught up in people's personal lives that have no impact on mine, especially actors and athletes.

I could care less what TC does in his personal life. There are some of his movies I like and some I don't.

Actually I don't like him from the days of TopGun ,Days of Thunder and Cocktail, where he played a cocky asshole you want to punch in the face. After that I could never find him really good. Some other actors have played the parts of guys who get all the girls, but not in the same cocky arrogant way(only John Travolta comes close).I dunno,it's kind of the way he'd smile at the audience with those huge teeth and say "I'm better than YOU"

It's alright, but my favorite 80's Cruise film (besides BOTFOJ) would have to be Legend.

I generally don't like him, he always seems to be playing Tom Cruise in one way or another. But there are a few films where I felt he managed to supress his Tom Cruise-ness, and made for a good performance. Interview With A Vampire, Magnolia, and Collateral come immediately to mind. I can't stand him in Top Gun or the Scorsese-Paul Newman movie (forgot the name, something with Money). I did like him in Mission:Impossible, loathed him in M:I2, was indifferent to him in M:I3. I don't think he hurt Minority Report, War of The Worlds, Vanilla Sky or The Last Samurai, and Kubrick diffused his Tom Cruiseness in Eyes Wide Shut.

Basically, I didn't like him at all before 1994, except for Rain Man, (where he was still annoying). Since, I think he's given a couple of great performances, and a bunch where him being Tom Cruise didn't harm the film. Although it certainly did on his most recent, totally forgettable film.

I can't hate somebody who's given us so many hours of entertaining humilliation, like the couch-jumping scene, the placenta-eating fiasco or the apology to Brooke Shields - "I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, although I'm still right".

Thank you, Tom Cruise. Now get out of the closet.

Posted

Yeah, but you can be a dick sometimes (I don't mean this in a derogitary fashion, it's just part of your colorful personality).

Morlock- who's sorry if he's hurt Stefan's feelings, but is still right.

Posted

Even if you do manage to hurt my feelings I console myself with the fact that you are living in Isreal and will probably die by a random explosion soon.

As for being a dick, well that's true, I just call them the way I see them, because this is the Internet and the worst that can happen is that Marc bans me for a few weeks (oooohhh scary)

I put up my barricades weeks ago.

You're running behind Stefancos.

You have a shrink?

Stefancos- physically backing away....

Yes, I do. I have clinical depression. I am not a nutcase...you needn't fear. I go to a psychiatrist because he prescribes the medication to defeat the symptoms and because Workcover insist that I see a doctor every month.

I developed depression as a result of being attacked in my classroom by a psychologically-deranged student who attempted to stab me.

Normally I keep this sort of stuff to myself but the internet provides a semblance of anonymity so that one may speak up.

Satisfied?

I sure Tom dreams of that happening to him on a nightly basis.

I doubt if Katie could it that high. Unless Suri has started pissing into his face. Go Suri Cruise.

That wasn't the type of squirting I was referring to.
