So I forgot, what day did LaLaLand say they would be able to ship more orders of Star Trek again? I held off on ordering until their next batch came in.

You know, if you're going to be the second answer to a question nine hours after the fact, you really ought to use the LMGTFY treatment.

Posted

Or just do it in a way that's not condescending. Unthinkable as that may be.

Well this will be the last goddamned time I buy anything from SAE. One month and not so much as a "we're sorry we didn't have enough of TMP that we would gladly take your money but delay the rest of your shipment one month." Intolerable.

When permitted I like to buy directly from the labels. Or if I can't I'll always make an order with Peter from Movie Music.

I like SAE, but they're clearly at the mercy of their web store and are either unwilling or unable (or both) to fix it. They can't add items to existing orders (no matter how many weeks they may still be pending), and apparently it takes manual intervention to seek out orders that have been delayed for a longer time.

The electronic chime sounds are buried in the mix. I kinda miss them, but I'm getting used to this new master.

There were two versions of the End Title. One with electronics and one without. I think the electronics were recorded separatly.

Posted

Manually adding things to existing orders might affect shipping and tax calculations, so I can understand that.

There is an option while ordering from SAE to send what they have in stock rather than hold back all of the order.

Contact them, they may be able to send it out without TMP. However, they are awaiting more copies of TMP from LLL's recently replenished stock, and are probably sending out the pending orders when they can.

For the most part that's all he does lately, yep. Like a broken record.

The most interesting posts from him lately have been in Other Topics, like talking about the food he's making. I dunno what happened to the old Joey.

From what I remember, Joey's always been like this. He's got style, and is one of the reasons I enjoy reading the board.

Well I love you all.....

You guys missed the point. I was saying that he's repeating old material, not that he's changed his M.O.

Posted

what, WHAT?

I don't think Joey has any problems.

I think the community as a whole (myself included) sucks at engaging with each other. So most of it is just tired cutesy one liners. Hell even Incanus has fallen to two or three sentences instead of Phd theses.

Haha. Yes I realize that, if they are pressed into his chest though he doesn't have access ;-)

No, no. I can ill afford to pay damages for any additional sexual harassment lawsuit for unwelcome groping.

Unwelcome???? ;)

Ok. Walking away......

That's all I've ever let the special ones, the ones who really mattered, do. Walk away.

Guys, this completely off topic (for the thread and the subforum) banter has to stop.

Let's get back on topic and discuss the Star Trek set in this thread please.

I edited your post per this rule:

08 - Discussion of music CDs before they are in stores (ie when they "leak" to the internet) is allowed, as is discussion of leaked recording sessions, sheet music, and other bootlegs. HOWEVER:

a) You may not post a link to, or name of, any site where this material can be illegally downloaded.

b) You may not offer on the public forums to send this material to anybody who PMs you.

c) You may not ask on the public forums for somebody to PM you a link to this material.

I finally got the shipping notice from SAE, which means it's probably at my house today. I will get it tomorrow and weep with joy.

I can, in the words of Ahnold the cop....stop whining I'll get it on Saturday.

congrats.

My SAE orders have finally shipped. Both of them on the same day. That's going to be a shitload of CDs to listen to.

Super late to the party, but I just bought this and it's beauuuutiful. :)

Would anybody happen to know which cues are different in the director's cut of the film? The liner notes on this release say that some of the alternates on disc 3 were used for that version, but they don't specify which ones.

Was going through Jim titus’ profile on behance (adobe social network for designers) and found these two articles he put together for his work on both:

TMP 3 cd release

https://www.behance.net/gallery/13102945/Star-Trek-The-Motion-Picture

and the vinyl release

https://www.behance.net/gallery/56339157/Star-Trek-The-Motion-Picture-Vinyl-Album-Cover-Art

intersting stuff from one of the best designers working in our beloved hobby!

Yea he's the bets in the biz, and I love that he does those behind the scenes articles!
