Romão 2,473 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Spielberg shoots faster than anyone (while PJ is not really know for his restrain in his storytelling), so I don't think many directors are able to do at the rate Spielberg does it. Even so, I'd much rather have another Tintin movie by Spielberg than one directed by PJ, who in my mind is still yet to make a great movieYeah, if you don't consider his LOTR films to be great movies then I guess he will never make a great movie...I really don't, Roald, in all honesty. And it's a shame, because he seems to be a really likable guy with his mindset in the right place. I do hope to be proven wrong with the Hobbit and his Tintin movie, as they properties very dear to me
Ricard 2,673 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I consider King Kong to be a great movie. Unlike the LOTR Trilogy. But that's just me.
Jilal 681 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Jackson will be busy with The Hobbit until 2014. So if he's going to direct Tintin2, it might not be in theaters until 2018! They don't even have a script yet.More than likely, if Tintin1 makes enough money, they can write the script and do pre-production throughout 2012, film it in early 2013, and have it in theaters by X-Mas 2015. That's our best bet. But that involves finding another director. Spielberg can't do it because he's busy with Lincoln then Robopcocalypse until the middle of 2013The Hobbit P1: December 2012The Hobbit P2: December 2013
crocodile 9,724 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I consider King Kong to be a great movie. Unlike the LOTR Trilogy. But that's just me.There is a great 2 hour movie in there and some not so good 1 hour, which it doesn't need anyway.Karol

But that's a discussion for The Hobbit thread
Not Mr. Big 5,011 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 On the SonyPicturesGermany channel on youtube there are some new videos. There might be some new music, but it's very quiet.

Josh500 1,620 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Hmmmm, yes. What little we can actually hear, maybe.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 You could actually be right, It sounds a bit more John Powell-ish.
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I love how Spielberg blocks his shots... the camera is always moving. Gives me chills.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Josh's second link is the same video we already talked about here:http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20685
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Yes, I realized that. Just thought we'd have all 3 German trailers in the same place...
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Here is that trailer with the voices removed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgLsGQx8PNk
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Well, it's definitely not audiomachine... does definitely sound like John PowellHmmm, I am not familiar enough with JP's works to judge one way or the other.
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 It sounds more Michael Kamen-ish to me...
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Okay, I am starting to be convinced this is NOT Williams...
Jay 46,244 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 If I wasn't at work I could listen. Hopefully soon.
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 The last 2 or 3 seconds actually sound a bit like Alan Silvestri's BTTF.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 The last 2 or 3 seconds actually sound a bit like Alan Silvestri's BTTF.Comparison?
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I am not saying it's that, just that it sounds similar. Don't you know BTTF? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DjgM7DKB_E
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I am not saying it's that, just that it sounds similar. Don't you know BTTF? ....I have all thre3 BTTF scores....I do not see the similarity...
Sandor 918 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 In all fairness, BTTF was the first thing that came to my mind as well.

Jay 46,244 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Ok finally had a chance to listen. No Williams music, just generic trailer stuff
Incanus 5,890 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Still no new music or even new info on the music! Damn you Sony! Damn your marketing department to hell!
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Well, these are only TV spots anyway. Not bona fide trailers shown in the theater.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 It's weird that since the FILM is being released in 3 weeks, there hasn't been a true, full blown trailer yet! Mind boggling!
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Whatchoo talking about? We have 2 full-blown trailers, don't we?
Jay 46,244 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 We have 2 teaser trailers. No "real" trailer yet.
Incanus 5,890 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I am really getting the feeling that the studio is gearing up for US promotional campaign in November and December and leaving Europe with teasers and no info on the score and film since they think we know our Tintin stuff by heart anyway.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Right, I completely agree that they will be a new, longer, full blown trailer sometime before the US's December 21st release date. But what I don't get is why Europe gets screwed over and only has old teasers and short commercials!
Brónach 1,330 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 We have 2 teaser trailers. No "real" trailer yet.We have two versions of the teaser trailer, a full international trailer, a full trailer for latin America, a final trailer just for Spain, etcBut here Tintin sells itself.
Jay 46,244 Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 Those are all teaser trailers. There hasn't be a FULL trailer yet that actually tells you something about the plot of the movie
Brónach 1,330 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Those are all teaser trailers. There hasn't be a FULL trailer yet that actually tells you something about the plot of the movieSo a trailer has to be spoilery now?But I disagree. The second and the Spanish trailer tell details about the plot and everything.
Josh500 1,620 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Right, I completely agree that they will be a new, longer, full blown trailer sometime before the US's December 21st release date. But what I don't get is why Europe gets screwed over and only has old teasers and short commercials!Maybe because Europe is getting to see the movie and enjoy the soundtrack full two months before North America!
