Spielberg shoots faster than anyone (while PJ is not really know for his restrain in his storytelling), so I don't think many directors are able to do at the rate Spielberg does it. Even so, I'd much rather have another Tintin movie by Spielberg than one directed by PJ, who in my mind is still yet to make a great movie

Yeah, if you don't consider his LOTR films to be great movies then I guess he will never make a great movie...

I really don't, Roald, in all honesty. And it's a shame, because he seems to be a really likable guy with his mindset in the right place. I do hope to be proven wrong with the Hobbit and his Tintin movie, as they properties very dear to me

I consider King Kong to be a great movie. Unlike the LOTR Trilogy. But that's just me.

Jackson will be busy with The Hobbit until 2014. So if he's going to direct Tintin2, it might not be in theaters until 2018! They don't even have a script yet.

More than likely, if Tintin1 makes enough money, they can write the script and do pre-production throughout 2012, film it in early 2013, and have it in theaters by X-Mas 2015. That's our best bet. But that involves finding another director. Spielberg can't do it because he's busy with Lincoln then Robopcocalypse until the middle of 2013

There is a great 2 hour movie in there and some not so good 1 hour, which it doesn't need anyway.

I thought I read an article indicating they were behind on shooting and not sure if they could make the December 2012 release date any more. But that's a discussion for The Hobbit thread

On the SonyPicturesGermany channel on youtube there are some new videos. There might be some new music, but it's very quiet.

I love how Spielberg blocks his shots... the camera is always moving.

Gives me chills.

Yes, I realized that. Just thought we'd have all 3 German trailers in the same place...

Well, it's definitely not audiomachine... :P

does definitely sound like John Powell

Hmmm, I am not familiar enough with JP's works to judge one way or the other.

Okay, I am starting to be convinced this is NOT Williams...

If I wasn't at work I could listen. Hopefully soon.

The last 2 or 3 seconds actually sound a bit like Alan Silvestri's BTTF.

Posted

I am not saying it's that, just that it sounds similar. Don't you know BTTF?

....I have all thre3 BTTF scores....I do not see the similarity...

Posted

In all fairness, BTTF was the first thing that came to my mind as well.

Well, I do. Roald does too.

You don't, and I am not going to try to convince you. ;)

Ok finally had a chance to listen. No Williams music, just generic trailer stuff

Still no new music or even new info on the music! Damn you Sony! Damn your marketing department to hell!

Audiomachine again? :P

I have no idea

Well, these are only TV spots anyway.

Not bona fide trailers shown in the theater.

It's weird that since the FILM is being released in 3 weeks, there hasn't been a true, full blown trailer yet! Mind boggling!

Whatchoo talking about? We have 2 full-blown trailers, don't we?

Posted

We have 2 teaser trailers. No "real" trailer yet.

I am really getting the feeling that the studio is gearing up for US promotional campaign in November and December and leaving Europe with teasers and no info on the score and film since they think we know our Tintin stuff by heart anyway. :P

Posted

Right, I completely agree that they will be a new, longer, full blown trailer sometime before the US's December 21st release date. But what I don't get is why Europe gets screwed over and only has old teasers and short commercials!

We have two versions of the teaser trailer, a full international trailer, a full trailer for latin America, a final trailer just for Spain, etc

But here Tintin sells itself.

Those are all teaser trailers. There hasn't be a FULL trailer yet that actually tells you something about the plot of the movie

So a trailer has to be spoilery now?

But I disagree. The second and the Spanish trailer tell details about the plot and everything.

Maybe because Europe is getting to see the movie and enjoy the soundtrack full two months before North America! :P
