MSM 194 Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Isn't the 'meet the parents' thing meant to work the other way round?I've never heard of the guy needing to get his parent's approval of the girl...Depents a bit on the parents I think. But I think it's pretty common, I mean when things are getting more serious to introduce her, right.
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted August 6, 2011 Author Posted August 6, 2011 My mom was put off by the number of ear piercings she had, but other than that they seemed cool. I mean I haven't called them up since we were there and asked for their opinion or anything. How many ear piercings DOES she have?
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 And does she have piercings anywhere else?

We went to my parents house to drop off some old furniture that no longer fit in my condo, since she recently moved in with me.My mom was put off by the number of ear piercings she had, but other than that they seemed cool. I mean I haven't called them up since we were there and asked for their opinion or anything. How many ear piercings DOES she have? Um, I think 4 in one ear and 3 in the other? And does she have piercings anywhere else? Yes. Yes she does...
Thor 9,362 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 You people own an island? Two hours from now, I'll be either sleeping or seeing a random film on my laptop.Yes, we do. About 7 acres worth off the coast of Arendal (in the South of Norway). A fantastic, idyllic place. We've had since the 30's, but I'm not sure how much longer we'll be able to keep it (it's expensive, after all).
Ollie 1,375 Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 And does she have piercings anywhere else? Pervert.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Well, he was rightI'd like to think Mark was joking, but he didn't do his usual 100 spaces and then a wink
Jay 46,241 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Shoulda bumped this thread weeks ago, I've been having a pretty wild summer full of fun stuff, especially on weekendsSadly 2 hours from now I'll be working
Ren 77 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Haha. Never knew this thread existed. 2 hours from now? Playdate.
KK 3,313 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 2 hours from now? I'll still be crying over what I heard about The Hobbit.
Quintus 6,494 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 And yet you'll still be there on opening night, for all three movies.
KK 3,313 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Without a doubt. Just because I want to see if Jackson and crew can pull this off (still having a hard time believing such great writers went through with this trilogy idea) doesnt mean I have to like this idea one bit.
Quintus 6,494 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 So can't you just put off the doom mongering at least till after the first movie?
KK 3,313 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I suppose. But I'm just a bit worried about the direction this trilogy might be taking, with rumours of bunnies of doom and Nazgul tombs and all.
Maglorfin 219 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I'm going to be in bed too, but not watching anything, except maybe in my dreams 'cause I'll be sleeping.
Maglorfin 219 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Nor would I but it was midnight here when I wrote the post, it's 1am now so I'm really off to bed now.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,385 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I'm going to be in bed watching somethingWhat did you end up watching?
Ren 77 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 The beginning of ep2 Sherlock, then the back of my eyelids.
Quintus 6,494 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 It wasn't as straightforward as you think - you could have quite easily ended up watching Girl Interrupted, instead.
Quintus 6,494 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Hey, I could have set you up with Last Tango in Liverpool instead.
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Attending a live performance of Les Miserables with my mom and sister. Should be awesome! ShowUStheHOOK 1

Jay 46,241 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Still working, but going to New Hampshire tonight for Thanksgiving weekendAny other Americans doing anything special for Thanksgiving?
Wojo 2,458 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Baking brownies and driving to see family
Jay 46,241 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I strongly prefer brownies with walnuts in them to ones without.I also always take from the middle of the pan, and Marcy prefers the edges, so that works out nice
Wojo 2,458 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Well they said a handful of nuts a day will help you live longer.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Walnuts and cranberries in brownies are pretty awesome.
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 In 2 hours I'll be wishing whatever I lied about doing in 2 hours 2 hours earlier were true.
Wojo 2,458 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Walnuts in the brownies?I put walnut pieces on half the pan. My mom loaned me her old kitchen aid mixer, or these would have been impossible to mix.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,385 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 So whats the practical difference between Thanksgiving and Christmas? Both seem to be about family and friends coming together, eating turkey and watching TV.
