I first joined as ost_fan a few years back. After about 100 posts I wanted to change it to something more personal.

I've posted as J Dan for most of my time here, but that seemed to confuse some people.

A couple months ago I revealed my identity... as Jacob. (*cue trombones*)

Oh and by the way, I've been looking for a few candidates to take a couple of airline tickets off my hands, free for the asking.

Certainly a lost opportunity if you pass this up.

Any takers?

You're JDan??? I was wondering where he went! I've been thinking Jacob was a newbie all this time.

Hah. I wasn't sure anyone noticed.

I did keep the same avatar and sig for a while after the switch, thinking that would be enough.

When scanning threads, who reads usernames anyway, right?

By the way, that bit about airline tickets was a reference to LOST, the TV show.

Don't want to confuse anymore people.

Nope, it doesn't work and neither does the link.

I went to edit his post to fix the link and there's nothing there but an empty picture frame icon. Your link went to a page not found.

I just thought he posted one of "Steef's watching you poop" images.

Well, that's weird, it worked for me originally.

But since you brought up Steef. Here's an old one.post-75-0-74872800-1303444432_thumb.jpg

I've never really had a desire to use my actual name. It's not that I don't like my name, I just like taking advantage of the nicknames and titles one has on the internet. I have a few on the various websites and forums that I frequent.

I have a link in my profile to my Facebook page so you guys all know who I am if you cared to look. I dont care about anonymity anymore.

You're not the girl in your avatar? huh

I don't why, but I never used any of the funny names I picked for the several PSN accounts I have. When creating a screen name, I always try to come up with something obscure, and it turns out anything with "Mc" in it is hilarious for some reason.

My back-up account on PS3 is BaggerMcGuirk. I played on it extensively on COD4, and after months of playing I got one message in-game. "Dude, Home Movies is awesome." That made my life complete.

Ranger McFriendly is another one I have too

Nope. Just my dream girl.

You've got a friend request on Facebook.

Look at all those pansies who tried to erase their mistakes by changing their names! ;)

Except for the now mods and admins of course... bowdown:eek:

Hot girls in avatars are a real problem. There was one guy on another site who had a picture of Jessica Alba as his avatar for the longest time, and for the longest time, my brain assumed he was a girl, possibly an attractive one. I never had that issue with you, Trent, because of your screen name, but it's still funny how it colors one's impression of a poster. :P

Oh, I recognized her just fine, but still, there's a tendency (at least in my brain) to associate the poster with the avatar. I mean, take Quint for example - there's a part of me that is totally convinced he actually looks like Robert Shaw.

How do you change your username? Admin?

Send a PM to Jason and ask him to change it for you and he will. You'll have to sign in under that new name. The password should still be the same.

FattyMcButterPants posted up until Dec 31st 2008, and his most recent login was Jan 2nd 2009.

I see nothing in his last few posts to indicate why he would have left; Did he make posts after New Years Eve that have been deleted?

It appears so. He made some odd, disturbing posts about the end of the world or something along those lines.

I just saw in the Super Secret Admin Area ™ that he was banned until January 3rd, 2010!

So whatever he said got deleted, and he got a one year ban! Wow!

What the hell did he say to get himself banned for a year?

My username is what it is. I've used it for my e-mail address when I got access to the internet the very first time, and used it as a username ever since.

Anywhere. Everywhere.

Simplicity is a bliss.

I could change to my actual name, but I don't see the upside of rubbing your personal name under everybody's nose openly in the web.

I feel it is good to use an alternate name to have a fictitious "entity" to fight when there is an argument. I feel it takes away some of the personal aspect.

yes I agree

Wait why am I in this tread...oh yeah who's Peter Corrigan?

I thought Fatty was a decent poster, I'd have him back. I guess his big gob and abrasive way didn't fit with the conservative criteria of this place.

Or maybe he was just a complete twat, I can't quite remember.

Posted

It looks like he got banned without making a personal insult to anyone , just some weird shit. I'm curious

The only other person that got banned a year was A.I. and he was insulting people left and right

Posted

I have no idea what Fatty McButterpants said to get banned; As was mentioned in the thread, the post was deleted. Or maybe it was via PM, and not a post. Who knows now, its lost to time.

That's not all he did...

Mr. McButterpants turned out to be a bit off kilter. Based on some of the stuff he said, it was for the best I would imagine.

If Marc or Neil wanted to fill everyone in, I'm sure they would of. I saw some of the stuff before it got deleted and uh, a bit uh wacko.

I briefly remember Mr. McButterpants and Mark was right he was a weird one and a bit of an ass hole. I certainly don't miss him.
