Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Hopefully it'll happen with COD 5. I know Activision is steering clear of the main number line for a reboot.
gkgyver 1,647 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Star Wars Episode VII: Call Of DutyI want a new Williams score for every one of these movies.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Just think of all the great lines Yoda could say From Her get away you bitchBack I'll be mmmmm yessssBaby Asta la vistaSon of a bitch SmileMother f***er yippe ky ay
Brónach 1,330 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 We don't really have "spelling nazis". It's a different perspective.
Red 75 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I don't think Yoda works as a standalone movie. I don't need to see his younger, more rambunctious days. He works as the wise old sage archetype.Han Solo and Boba Fett have potential, however. Although with Solo there is the danger of going into story constructs that we already know about, which was one of the pitfalls of the prequels.
chuck 155 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 @ Red RabbitDude you're avatar reminded me of when I watched part 2 of The Dark Knight Returns. Holy fucking hell, the grisly scenes are really brutal, visceral & disturbing. This animated movie is really not for the kids, nor for the faint of heart.
Trent B 354 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 At some point I plan to get the Blu-Ray saga set but as it stands I'm burned out on Star Wars. Either way having stand alone Star Wars films....bad idea.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 How about a young Leia film as she crusades against the Imperial Senate in more revealing attire than in Star Wars.Hubba hubba hubba,oh wait I'm gay, nevermind.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,385 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Sometimes i wonder if you are gay....
Jeshopk 8 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Call of Duty isn't influential on big game studios, the military spending budget is.
A24 5,155 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 The Star Wars Spin-Off movies:"Finally the public will hear my side of the story!" Jilal 1
Ollie 1,375 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Lucas had planned for a young Solo to be in ROTS, on the Wookie planet with Yoda and Chewie. Given all the other ridiculous things he did I don't know why he dropped it.
Wycket 36 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Someone probably had the balls to tell him it was a stupid idea and only more fan service that didn't add anything to the movie.
Jay 46,241 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Star Wars Spinoffs Described as 'Origin Story' Filmshttp://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=108873
Wojo 2,458 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Great. More prequels that will only marginally tie into the almost forty year old originals. So we know the titular characters won't be able to die. Just what we wanted.
Wojo 2,458 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Boba Fett BeginsThis was taken away by the second prequel, which turned all the marvelous EU Boba Fett origin stories into mere urban legends for Star Wars denizens who didn't know the "truth."
Jay 46,241 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I could have written a better origin story for Boba Fett than George Lucas did. Big bummer.
Wojo 2,458 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I could have written a better DAMN NEAR ANYTHING than George Lucas did.Fixed.
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Are the prequels considered canon? I thought there weren't...
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,385 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I could have written a better origin story for Boba Fett than George Lucas did. Big bummer. That's my main issue with the Prequels. I'm not a writer or a director in any way, but i could have done better.
chuck 155 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 "Fantastic Siths And Where To Find Them."
gkgyver 1,647 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Are the prequels considered canon? I thought there weren't...Lucas went ape shit insane on them, but that doesn't mean they are not canon.
Jay 46,241 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 'Star Wars': Now the Spinoffs Will Matter (Some of Them, Anyway)The "Star Wars" canon is going to be expanded in the future -- by allowing more than just the movies to count.http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/star-wars-spinoffs-will-matter-668958
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,385 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Can an S-Canon shoot down an X-Wing? A. A. Ron 1
Luke Skywalker 2,383 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 So it will mean they will start the EU from stratch, that is, based on the new episodes. From then on all EU will be one cohesive thing.I dont think it means they are going to take into consideration the old EU for the new movies...
Bilbo 4,294 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Wasn't this crap discussed in the previous thread? The Story Group is not a new thing people!
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 What's Star Wars? Is it based on that ride at Disney?
Jill Sandwich 11,165 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 This is no ride. Everyone has rides. We have made biological attractions so astounding that they will capture the imagination of the entire planet.
Jay 46,241 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Supposed release dates and subjects for the spinoff filmshttp://www.nerdist.com/2014/05/are-these-the-subjects-for-the-star-wars-spin-off-films/
nightscape94 968 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Personally I would stand in line for Star Wars: The Fall of Antilles
Sir Hilary Bray 235 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Like the idea of Red Five possibly being a Rogue Squadron movie. Sort of Stackpole's X-Wing books on screen.
Not Mr. Big 5,011 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 http://schmoesknow.com/breaking-godzilla-director-gareth-edwards-to-direct-star-wars-spinoff/23730/
Jay 46,241 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Obi Wan rumored to be the source of one of the spinoff films http://www.avclub.com/article/these-are-obi-wan-kenobi-spinoff-rumors-internet-l-209248
Quintus 6,494 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Never liked Ewan as Obi. He was too wooden, but maybe a better script and direction would help him be more convincing.
mrbellamy 8,239 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I thought he was fine in the prequels, actually quite good in Revenge of the Sith. He's a great actor, if they can get an interesting writer and director, I'd like to see him return. Nobody springs to mind that I'd rather see in the role.
Bilbo 4,294 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 He's already said he'd be up for going back so if Lucasfilm actually want to do this it could happen! I'd much rather an Obi-Wan film than a Han or Boba standalone. There was a great book released last year called Kenobi it's set just after Obi-Wan hands Luke over to the Lars. The book is about his struggle to leave behind the life of Obi-Wan and become Ben. It was a really great story and something along those lines would make a great standalone film.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,385 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Never liked Ewan as Obi. He was too wooden, but maybe a better script and direction would help him be more convincing.I think so. Ewan is normally quite an animated presence on screen. I think, like so many, the blandness of the prequels just enveloped him. Even Liam Neeson struggled.A decent script with a decent director should already yield better results.
Jill Sandwich 11,165 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Most of the time he was talking to thin air.
