I think it says Doves belong to the Family Columbidae, and then explains that pigeons too, at least that is what i know.Well doves and pigeons are from the same family but different species. Which is what I said. They are of the same genus, different species.

That is what i meant, the dictionary says Pigeons and Doves are members from the same family (columbidae)
