I did see this, actually. And then forgot to post. Damn. Still, thanks Steef. :)

I've never really been fond of this as a unified thread (as with several others). Which is why I've rarely looked into it, after we stopped having all those individual birthday threads from the old days. Which is why I feel rather selfish when I only check it once a year after my own birthday. But then I do anyway, because not reading it and not thanking people for their birthday wishes seems even more selfish. And then I forget to reply, which rather undermines the whole point...

So thanks, and happy birthdays to all those I've missed.

We used to have separate threads for whoever had a birthday when they did. When Steef had a birthday, you'd have a "Happy birthday Stefancos" thread filled with birthday wishes and of course lots of silliness. But you knew what you were getting into before you opened it. Now that it's all in one thread, as one long list of wishes and silliness, it's easy to lose track of whose birthday was when. But I have that issue with all those "official" threads - I skip half of them because they lack structure, especially when it's a topic where I'm interested in some aspects and not others. I often miss movie threads because by the time the movie comes out and I can comment on it, there are already 30 pages of anticipation and rumours, and I feel I should read them all before posting anything because it may all have been discussed already.

That, and I frequently not notice when an irregularly updated sticky thread has new posts (because I'm so used to skipping them to get to the newest stuff).

This thread was created the same day this instance of the forum was - May 20th, 2002. There was no administrative mandate to go back to using this thread instead of separate birthday threads - I guess it just happened that way for some reason *shrug*

For big movies I try to create a new thread to discuss the actual movie the day it opens so that its not combined with all the previous anticipation posts. I remembered to do so for Inception, The Hobbit: AUJ, and others, but then forgot to do it for Prometheus, TDKR, and others. You can always post or PM me to remind me to do so when I forget!

The solution to a lot of your problems is to bookmark this page:

http://www.jwfan.com...arch_app=forums

rather than clicking on each individual subforum. That view doesn't differentiate between sticky and non-sticky posts, and there's no such thing as threads falling pages behind because the view is only as long as the amount of unread threads is (Just make sure "Content I Have Not Read" is what's checked off on the left)

You should make a forum express thread stickie with every member ever linked within from January through to December. If you get it started now you'll have it done by May, chop chop!

I'm not complaining anway. With so many active members, individual birthday threads would need their own subforum anyway, and then I wouldn't read that. ;) Good idea about the new posts thingy though - I knew about it, but I never tried it.

Anyway, so this is what happens when I try to say thank you for my birthday wishes. ;)

Isn't it just Jason. :)

And friendship of BloodBoal is such a double edged sword. He giveth and he taketh away.
