Elmo Lewis 7 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Or maybe he was just being a professional and was connecting some scenes to those of Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back through the music. Then, of course, Lucas re-edited the scenes and fucked the whole thing up.
Luke Skywalker 2,383 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Well, the only fucked up is the Through the window music, as it was supposedly been written for a scene (in the script) of anakin throwing things at obi wan in the duel and possibly throuwn him to a lower level too.I dont think the ussage of leia's or luke's theme is wrong at all. Nor is the imperial march mixed with the funeral and force themes. And either the more or less subtle imperial march when anakin is going to slaught the separatists. or when he is masked for the first time. And the end credit sequence, uses throne room as a farewell from williams to us (a farewell mostly aswered with a middle finder no less...) and in the film they are great since it anticipates ANH with Luke's and Leia's themes, and adds the main theme of this movie, BOH. If the complete thing (album version) is to be reviewed, you can add that the other main theme of this movie, the Force theme, is featured in its concert version form.
crocodile 9,724 Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 There are some moments in ROTS were it feels like Williams got to a point where he figured he'd just throw some music from Star Wars & TESB in the movie and it wouldn't even matter.Even if so, ROTS score still makes this unfortunate film so much better. In fact it may be the only dramatic thing in it. Otherwise it would be just plain silly, I'm afraid. I give Williams credit for that.Karol
