I didn't ask.

I just heard some familiar music and turned around to see where it was coming from and saw two guys driving thru the parking lot with it blaring thru the window.

Hilariously, me and my best friend (someone who is mostly indifferent to film music) once pulled up at the traffic lights at my town centre's extremely busy main junction, windows wound down. He had a VERY beefy sound system. It was a lovely sunny day and pedestrian shoppers were all around us.

LET ME TELL YOU OF THE DAYS OF HIGH ADVENTURE...! <----Conan main theme FULL volume.

The only thing that could have possibly made that better would have been if he'd stripped down naked and had you take over the steering wheel, as he savagely beat his chest and flailed his arms while leaning out the driverside window. Nothing freaks out adjacent drivers more than looking to their side and witnessing the supposed driver of an automobile half-hanging out the window, apparently in the midst of a breakdown while driving down the road.

So many people are OFTEN bullied here...

But I hope not because of your love for film music!

Oh yeah, they'll bash you across the head so many times until you're brain damaged if they catch you talking about the latest Zimmer.

I gotta be honest, I have NEVER talked about Zimmer in real life (as opposed to on this MB)...

Don't know you everyone on the Internet is an expert and everyone else is an idiot?

Well - I went through a mild, self-imposed bullying situation for three years in middle school. I resolved to always sit with my friend at lunch, but his friends couldn't stand me. In general, though, I avoided bullying by being so utterly meek and bland nobody could conceive of me as a target. I was sort of "popular" in a very condescending way. I had a lot of supportive teachers, which I'm thankful for. I occasionally did some bullying of my own, but I managed to cut it out in high school.

Man, middle school was just the worst, though. Everybody was awful. Absolutely awful. I think I would have been too had it not been for my social terror. With all the hormonal changes going on it was as if nobody had a moral compass. Nothing made sense. I can sort of understand why teachers were driven to herd us around like sheep: no chewing gum, no talking too loudly in the cafeteria... a teacher in seventh grade actually said, "This year isn't about learning information, it's about learning to follow directions." Amazing, and yet most of them were very reasonable people outside of the classroom.

High school was a hundred times better. It was disorienting, though, because it wasn't until sophomore year that I began embarking on the personal growth most people had begun five years earlier. It was definitely an awakening as far as empathy toward others goes.

I enjoy getting the stares. My brother blasted Pirates once and at a red light some other guy was like "Yeah Pirates!"

lol an ex friend of mine and I were driving around town with PHANTOM OF THE OPERA blaring through the speakers. IT was funny when we came to a construction area and were playing the overture. Interesting seeing construction workers looking around as if they were thinking " pipe organ, what the hey...?"

as for the bullying topic. yes, Been there done that. Mostly due to my height..... no i'm not telling.. least not in this post unless anyone asks. LOL. Then there was the one incident where i almost died from strangulation by another student in fifth grade... but thats a different story...

Last nites episode of South Park had to do with bullying, it was spoofing the film on bullying. It was a disturbing as it was funny which is exactly what bullying is. Bullying is funny to those not being bullied, they encourage and allow it because it's not them.

I was on the border of it a few times but I had only one serious incident. It kind of grew for a few months, then exploded and ended later. It's kind of werid when I think about it now.

I was bullied in the 8th grade 3 specific times by 3 people all in the same group. First guy was at the bus stop. I had enough of his crap and trying to push me around and I broke his nose.

2nd time the bully actually bullied my friend by slapping him in the face. I beat the living hell out of him while my teacher stood there and watched. The guys name was Brian, I remember he and I were the same size. He got on hit on my cheek, then I tore him up. Later that night, it just happened to be teacher parent conference that day, my teacher told my mom she let me beat the hell out of him because he deserved it.

3rd time Brians best friend came after me and when he realize I wasn't going to take it he actually said he wouldn't hit a guy in glasses and I said no, slapped the glasses off of him and blacked both of his eyes.

Finally my friends and I were left alone,

she was a great teacher. Brian was much nicer afterwards. I was undergoing my last growth spurt, vertically that is and realized it was time to push back.

I think you should have turned the other cheek and not punch back.

it also says God helps those that helped themselves. I helped myself. I wasn't going to be a punching bag without giving as good as I got.

Of course not.

Actually I'm not a big fan of that book. Or any other book of it's kind.

When I was around 13, after weeks of bullying, making fun of me, a lot of denigrating commentaries and even threats to my sister then 9 year old sister, a guy and two friends of his went to look for me in the afternoon in the local music school. One of them grabbed me in the back and at that point I went mad and jumped at the main guy. He threw me into the ground (I could have seriously hurt my head against something but I got lucky) and proceded to kick me in the chin, then they ran away. While I screamed calling them cowards for coming three vs one and running away.

Some people in my class believed a different version which included me running away and shit and they would laugh. The guy got moved to a different school.

The truth is for a lot of my childhood and first teen years I always felt like some sort of outsider people laughed at. There were some older guys in the park near my house that would say things to used to say me when I went home, for example. But I was shy, socially awkward, messy, asbentminded, ugly, barely knew any people with similar interests, hated to death the general environment of my primary school and high school and I also felt like I didn't understand people. I guess all that didn't help. Most of this started fading away at around 14-15 onwards, I think, but still remains in the back of my head in some form or another.

What's the problem with JWFANers, seriously? Most of them have daddy issues, were bullied in school, used to wear feminine clothes... We're not giving a good image of the film score community, dudes!

You should be saying that you were the leader of the football team (whether real football or american football) when you were young, that you used to date a hot cheerleader, that you are now married to a hot woman, have 2 healthy and intelligent kids, are doing a job you love and earning a lot of money! Lie! It's the only way to be happy in life!

You cannot choose your parents, if you got beaten as four-year-old you obviously couldn't beat back.

Well, later I was cocking a snook to him by being the leader of the basketball team, am married to a hot lady and

having 3 healthy and intelligent kids( fourth is due in a month). Doing a job I love, decent money, not a fortune.

Quite a resemblance!

In both cases also behind the ugly mask there is enormous amount of talent. John Hurt/hornist.

That's exactly how I felt in High School.

People suck.

I don't think I was "bullied" in the strict sense.

However, once I was on a staircase, and all of a sudden this guy, about 4 years older than me, came towards me and planted a fist right into my stomach.

As it turned out, one of this guy's "friends" promised to buy him a pack of cigarettes if he punched the first person to come up the stairs.

Which, sadly, was me.

No teachers were around, he wouldn't tell me his name, and when I came back with someone, he was gone of course.

Oh, it was you!

I guess I should thank you: I won a pack of cigarettes thanks to you!

I was (and am) bullied because of my weight and.... well, my intelligence.

If you are referring to the bible here. NO the bible does not say that " God helps those who help themselves" . That was just a quote ... I believe... by Ben Franklin.

being smart is a reason people are bullied, being stupid is too, being poor as well, even being clean cut will get you bullied. Football players get bullied too.

In Junior High for some reason this guy named Johnny Gomez and his "gang" of pals liked to pick on me and two of my friends. However, one day it completely stopped dead in its tracks. I never knew why until a few years after high school. Apparently one of Johnny's friends was really good friends with my brother Mike. Back then he was in great shape and could literally pick someone up off the ground. Anyways this friend of his told Mike what Johnny and his 'gang' was doing to me. One point Johnny met my brother Mike and Mike threatened Johnny that if he did anything life threatening to me he would live to regret it.

As I said after Johnny met my brother that's when the bullying stopped.

For the most part I kept to myself in high school but for years I had wondered why the bullying from him stopped. I am rather glad that I have brothers who looked out for me back then. Hell with my heart condition and such if Johnny and his 'gang' ended up beating the crap out of me back then I could have ended up in the hospital or probably dead.
