Good god. People still didn't realize both sites are useless pieces of shit? How long will it take them before they have their epiphany? It's starting to get really tiring...

let it out, man. let it all out!

Twitter I definitely REALLY don't see the point. Facebook can be useful at times.

I Facebook, so i am not on Twitter,

I like the idea that Twitter seems to be used for open debate about topical issues; compared to Facebook which is predominantly used by teenagers to pout for the camera in the hope of gaining 'likes' which provide the little boost they need every few days. And to make wall posts such as "feeling a bit down today", followed by "what's up hun?"

You only see those teens pics if you friend them. My feed is full I mom stuff and politics

Depends on what you follow

My twitter feed is full of tweets on whatever interests me and and the few oddball accounts and some friends. Sometimes I have quite the laugh going through and I tend to find lots of interesting stuff. And I have mostly ignored anything concerning film scores, music or movies on Twitter. I need to clean up my follow list one of these days, though. It's far too crowded.

It's because I have staff who are that demographic and never shut up about it, showing me there latest profile pics on their flippin' phones.

I just have facebook for professional reasons, to show my work, meet people in the film industry etc.

Otherwise, I don't like it either and I wouldn't have an account.

What a wonderful tool this Facebook truly is.

That's another reason why it'll be banned in our house. Thankfully I maintain that my concerns will subside once the fad fades, people finally deciding they're bored with virtual networking. Which they will. If that doesn't happen then future legislation will enforce far stricter and vigilant policing of such sites. The parents will see to it.

Multibillion dollar companies aren't fads. Facebook isn't going anywhere, and just because your viewpoint of it is so limited to high school angst, doesn't mean it doesn't have a wide variety of uses and future potential.

My "viewpoint" is limited compared to what? Yours? Lol, don't make me laugh.

Regardless of that little amusement, FB will turn out be another trend, like MySpace was before it. Before that, MSN and AIM. Maybe you should stick to predicting future blockbuster box office hits, an area where you are a proven psychic.

Actually KS you're wrong, sometimes multibillion dollar companies are fads, the explode out of nowhere shine bright for a period of time and then disappear as fast as they began. Facebook is not immune to that process. They will have to adapt to survive. Social Media is so new it's hard to tell what's truly grounded and here to stay.

twitter is good for people like me who enjoy sports recruiting, but it's also a showplace for prima donna's.

You got in before me there Joey, I was just about to quote that little Koray gem and then link him to this well publicised saga - which is deliciously relevant given the context: http://www.forbes.com/sites/ericsavitz/2012/08/01/zynga-is-the-business-really-worth-nothing-at-all/

Tbh Koray, I don't think you know your arse from your elbow in matters of 'worldly viewpoints' ;)

Well 1,2 Milliard accounts > Joey and Quint

You have no idea how self satisfied I am about not being a part of that figure, even if you spelt it the drunk way.

Posted

Well 1,2 Milliard accounts > Joey and Quint

you would have to explain that to me, no idea what a milliard account is.

Coincidentally the combined audience total of who went to see Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers, while checking their Facebook.

Well, funny as always but now you are generalizing. I have never seen those shits, I never check my Facebook in the cinema.

And still I'm a good person and Facebook is mostly ok.

So a social gaming developer is failing? That means Facebook is a fad? Great back up there, Quint!

Your perception of what Facebook is seems more about people. You hate the people that open it up at the movies, like I do, and the teenagers that post stupid crap and do whatever. Those are people, not Facebook.

Oh, the comma was the problem? You use dot there, I guess? I meant 1.2 Billion.

The right number actually is 1 060 458 299 monthly users.

yeah I read that as 1 or 2 when you use the comma.

I was not commenting on Facebook as if they are failing, but things do change and Facebook will have to change as time goes by, Facebook is losing ground among younger kids these days.

Aye, that's the picture across the board. Scary.

I have a very limited phone, and I do not have a data plan. I plan on buying a Samsung Galaxy S4 on Black Friday and add a data plan but that's a long time away.

We live across the street from the lake in our town, there is a nice park there. It's loaded with duck, geese and other water fowl. We drive through occassional. The last time the park was quite crowded. However it was amazing that we saw dozens of kids just standing around glued to their smart phones. it's 80 degress, at the park, and everyone is standing around looking at their phones.

how incredibly sad.
