#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah, right!Poor gullible Lee...
Quintus 6,496 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Hey man, I'm an unashamed sucker for Arnie, I admit it.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 He has his charm. But The Terminator sans Cameron hasnt worked, ever!
Quintus 6,496 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Yeah T3 was crappy and i didn't see T4 or whatever it was called. But that's not gonna put me off. And I think the rumoured pitch sounds ace!

Quintus 6,496 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I'll watch it. Won't be too difficult to be better than the vanilla T3.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 T3 is like having boiled potatoes, bit of steamed chicken and carrots. No salt.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I found it enjoyable enough simply because Arnold was in it. Salvation is just trash, though.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 It has enjoyable parts. But also a lot of "facepalm" moments. Like the sunglasses.Salvation shows that Christian Bale is no good in standard (action) hero roles. If he doesnt have anything to sink his teeth into dramatically, he becomes quite bland.
Jay 46,244 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Terminator reboot starring Schwarzenegger (!!??) is close to principal photography! Yes, we've been talking about that for a while http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21829
nightscape94 968 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 After T2 it just seemed that they tried way too hard to turn this into a legitimate franchise because of how successful it was.
A24 5,156 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 It's like Alien. They should stop. There isn't anything more to tell.
Wojo 2,458 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 That's true of most film franchises that have run too long. Star Trek. Star Wars. James Bond. More stories to tell? Please...
A24 5,156 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Not the same at all. There's much more variation possible within some universes/franchises than there are about monsters like Alien or Jaws.
nightscape94 968 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 For a series that presented a scenario of post-apocalyptic doom, it was strangely focused on 2 people the entire time.
Quintus 6,496 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27262178I'm definitely liking this cast. Two Brits in a Terminator movie seems to suggest a degree of class absent from from T3.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 After T2 it just seemed that they tried way too hard to turn this into a legitimate franchise because of how successful it was. They mistook it for a franchise. It was a duet that ended perfectly. That said I'm intrigued by Arnold playing an aged T-800.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Bow ties are cool! Sweeping Strings 1
Quintus 6,496 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Daenerys and The Doctor together in sci-fi? Surely that's Stefan Cosman's dream movie
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm not nearly as mad for Dany as most of you are.
Quintus 6,496 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Emilia Clarke is immaculate, but Dany has gone from being a strong stern fascination to a 2D bore.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I agree. The actress is gorgeous.I've not seen her in anything else though.
nightscape94 968 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I wonder if Arny is just there to do motion capture for another all-CG shitfest T-800.
Jay 46,244 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 First look at T5http://www.nerdist.com/2014/05/get-your-first-look-at-terminator-genesis/
nightscape94 968 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Are we sure that Arny isn't playing the guy that the T-800 is modeled after or something? He looks like a normal dude in those photos.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Well is he in character there?
Quintus 6,496 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I think that's the worst mobile view site I've ever seen.
Quintus 6,496 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Isn't she playing Sarah Conner? Looks like she needs rescuing from another mental hospital (by Arnie?).Unlike Linda Hamilton, who was convincingly smart and dangerous enough to escape all on her own.
Quintus 6,496 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 She certainly looks a lot more easy on the eye, but Hamilton will always be the definitive Conner.
nightscape94 968 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 She commanded a lot of presence in the role, especially in the second one.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Linda Hamilton = Sarah Conner! How was Lena Headey in the role? She seemed a closer fit then Clarke.
Quintus 6,496 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Cersi played Sarah Conner? Sounds like perfect casting!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 In The Sarah Conner Chronicles I can see her as a tough as nails post T2 Sarah Conner.
Jill Sandwich 11,166 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 She commanded a lot of presence in the role, especially in the second one.And she was frighteningly nuts. She needed all the mental health care that the kindly Dr Silverman could prescribe.
Sweeping Strings 3,421 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 The intent is to make the previous 4 movies and the Sarah Connor Chronicles all 'tie in' and make sense? Yeah, good luck with that ...
Sweeping Strings 3,421 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 From the article - 'Terminator: Genesis is definitely starting to look like a major shift in direction for the franchise. Supposedly, the ultimate goal of the new films (and announced companion TV series) is to make the entire franchise (Sarah Connor Chronicles included) make cohesive sense. Now, if the creative team can pull that off, they can just have all our money forever – or until Skynet rises up and takes us over. Whichever comes first'.
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm not saying you were lying or anything. I checked the article after you mentioned that.I'm just saying that, if I remember correctly, they originally said this was going to be a reboot.

nightscape94 968 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Sounds like wasted effort. If they insist on doing this at all then just reboot the damn thing and start fresh. They'll just end up making it worse and have a movie that no one will remember in 2 years.
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 So basically they are gonna try and do what X-Men: Days Of Future Past did for that franchise? And of course, they will fail. There is no possible way they can make it all work cohesively.
Giftheck 1,219 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 This is the first and only time I've heard of them trying to tie all things Terminator together. I won't say it can't work. But it's still got to be better than the cowboy work of Ferris and Brancato. I'm hoping beyond hope that's going to be saying something.
