Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Can you at least cancel it? I've been looking around the site and can't find anything.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Well then I'll probably do that. I'd much rather have Five Man Army than La Storia Vera Della Signora Dalle Camelie, which I only added to the order for the hell of it.Ah, here's a little bit about it:Order modifications. Orders can be canceled and items removed upon request. We are unable to add additional items to pending orders.I might just remove that one score then, and place another 2 score order.
Joe Brausam 234 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I'd really like to pick up the Morricone, but I have to hang onto my money for the Rozsa box.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I also really want Morricone's Baaria, but at $27, I'm thinking of just getting it from iTunes.
Joe Brausam 234 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Huh, I guess that's an import then?I seem to remember a few people on FSM getting excited about some sort of "epic" he was working on this year, but I forget the name of the film or if it's even been released yet.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 It's Baaria. It's the film that prevented him from working on Inglourious Basterds, and I think his only score this year. It's already available on iTunes, but the CD release is sometime this month.
Joe Brausam 234 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Ahh, nice. Perhaps I'll ask to get it for my birthday next month or something. I still have trouble letting myself spend money on a download.
Ollie 1,375 Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 the two westerns are now up at SAE for ordering:http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm?ID=12930http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm?ID=12931Now bring on the Rozsa box!!!!!
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I just ordered The Five Man Army and Guns For San Sebastian like 10 minutes ago. Oof, I currently have $110 of scores pending with SAE.
Richard P 5,302 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Order modifications. Orders can be canceled and items removed upon request. We are unable to add additional items to pending orders.Hate to be picky, but that's pretty pathetic on an online ordering system.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I don't see it as pathetic, but rather puzzling. If you can remove an item from a pending order, you can easily add an item. And It's been almost 2 weeks since I made my initial order, and still no shipment. I'm getting impatient.
Ollie 1,375 Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 If anyone is interested, the Rozsa box set contents have been made available at FSM thru someone hunting the web for it and Lukas hasn't bothered to close the link or hints.I'm resisting the urge to look but Lukas said to expect the box set in mid-November.I will say that if what has been hinted at and suggested in the thread is true, this set will be nothing short of spectacular.
Romão 2,473 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 After seeing that track list, I really can't pass on this release, even with that price
Joe Brausam 234 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Yeah, it's awesome. This set pretty much closes the book on nearly every remaining Rozsa score in the MGM era.
Maurizio 6,913 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Yes, except for a more complete and definitive Ben-Hur. But if you read between the lines in the liner notes, it seems such a release it's not too far away.
Ollie 1,375 Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 More Ben Hur?!?!?!?!?!!Good lord, the Rhino 2-disc set is loaded, I don't know how much more I could take.
Luke Skywalker 2,383 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 it's a shame some scores are lost beyond the LPs.
Ollie 1,375 Posted November 19, 2009 Author Posted November 19, 2009 The Rozsa box set will be available to order around Dec. 10th - 15th. It will be limited to 2000 copies at $179.95 ea.http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/daily/article.cfm/articleID/6375/Rozsa-Box-Update/
Trent B 354 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Never really heard anything from Rosza...but with having to help out for Christmas next month I won't be able to get the set.
Ollie 1,375 Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 You can now pre-order the Rozsa box set at Screen Archives.
Jay 46,241 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 For the lazyhttp://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm?ID=13181
Wojo 2,458 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 And if someone's going to go all-out with Rozsa, the Tadlow re-recording of El Cid has been stripped of its third disc of alternates, reducing the price to $20.You snooze, you lose.http://www.screenarchives.com/title_detail.cfm?ID=10068
Jay 46,241 Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 FSM has released the complete score to Bullitthttp://filmscoremonthly.com/cds/detail.cfm?cdID=439
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Well that came out of nowhere. Nice release, but I'll pass considering all these 2 disc sets are sucking away at my bank account.
Ollie 1,375 Posted December 3, 2009 Author Posted December 3, 2009 I thought FSM might hold off this month because of the Rozsa box set.
Wojo 2,458 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Bullitt definitely sounds, for lack of a better word, cool. I'll wait until the Varese trio is announced before deciding to lock my wallet to soundtrack purchases for the rest of the calendar year.
Omen II 1,300 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 FSM has released the complete score to Bullitthttp://filmscoremonthly.com/cds/detail.cfm?cdID=439Woohoo! There's my Christmas present sorted for this year.
Ollie 1,375 Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 SAE has started shipping the Rozsa box set. People are getting their confirmation notices.
Joe Brausam 234 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I just saw that on SAE, and on the Rozsa boards last night. It's great that this is finally ready, I can't wait to dig into it!
Ollie 1,375 Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Something Goldsmith from FSM tommorrow.http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?forumID=1&pageID=5&threadID=65195&archive=0
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 It's Star Trek V. January 14, 1 + 4 = 5.Star Trek II came out of nowhere, so why not this too?
Trent B 354 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 It's Star Trek V. January 14, 1 + 4 = 5.Star Trek II came out of nowhere, so why not this too?If Star Trek V is tomorrow I'm so buying it.
Diego 21 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I wish it was either Gremlins or Masada. Haven't heard anything from ST V, is it very good??
King Mark 3,975 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I don't recall anything great left off the album
Trent B 354 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Star Trek V is very good, there's a ton of great unreleased material from the album. Star Trek V needs an expansion like Star Trek II did.
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 KM, do you have to shoot down every non-John Williams expanded release? If you do, I understand.
indy4 160 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Wojo, to what film was Ebert referring to with that quote in your signature?
scallenger 665 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Gremlins or Star Trek V please! But mostly Gremlins! You never know!!! It's the 14th soon, when will we know?
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Wojo, to what film was Ebert referring to with that quote in your signature? The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day
Ollie 1,375 Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 It seems that it's Sebastian.I think Intrada is going to do that one.
Trent B 354 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 What time does FSM generally announce their CDs? I dont have net access right now because we upgraded our service and QWEST suspended our current deal until we get the new one today. Im posting via my phone so thats why I was wondering. It generally is around 12pm PST right?
Ollie 1,375 Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Yeah I'd say it would be sometime around noon, eastern time. There's no telling what it might be, it could be something "big" or something small. Also Lukas mentioned that there are 2 more Goldsmith releases on tap before the summer.
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 The suspense is killing me. There's other stuff I wanna buy and I wanna stack an order.Ok, the FSM article says it'll be noon PST. 1 moutain, 2 central, and 3 where I am. D'oh!
Trent B 354 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 It seems it was just a black out for the net in my area this morning it's fine now. 12pm PST eh? That's another 16 minutes or so. Looking forward to it.
Trent B 354 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Ugh that sucks. I wish they'd just release it all ready.
Frank Vincent 301 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 It's now 12:42PM PST.Source: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/pacific-time/
