alicebrallice 134 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 so bloodboal, I take it you don't want a case? I mean... you'd have to reveal your name... AND your location.or perhaps you're ready for that?I can make my own case, thank you very much.I knew you would say something like that! tsk tsk, so predictable.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Make one for Bloodball, then send it to me so i will have two, and ill post pictures of my TWO cases in his PM box daily
Wojo 2,458 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Careful Alice, he could turn out to be the creepy guy watching you next door Cue the Rockwell. One hit wonder time.
indy4 160 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Jazz BeginningsAnything Goes (2002)The Hobbit (Special Editon)Silence of the LambsI'm especially excited for Jazz Beginnings!
crocodile 9,724 Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I decided to fill a few important gaps in my collection, things I wanted for some time now, but never ordered (for whatever reason). Coincidentally, all the films were released in 1985, the year I was born. Which is something I noticed after placing the order from Intrada.Karol
crocodile 9,724 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Another two gaps filled:andKarol Joe Brausam 1
TheTennisBallKid 27 Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Good stuff, Croc! My appreciation for JW's 90s drama scores has grown a great deal in the past couple of years.Silverado is great fun, too.
Quintus 6,494 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Bought John Williams Filmworks on Amazon for 1p. Thought it'd make a decent car cd.
Incanus 5,890 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Bought John Williams Filmworks on Amazon for 1p. Thought it'd make a decent car cd.That is a great compilation Lee. You won't regret getting it (especially at that price).
crocodile 9,724 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 It's a nice album. Quite different from a typical JW compilation as well, as it contains some of the less known material.Karol
Incanus 5,890 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 It offers quite a wide range of music from his career but of course it is limited to his Universal titles for the most part. But it is great that it has some of the less known titles like The Eiger Sanction, Dracula, River and Midway on it.
crocodile 9,724 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Which reminds me: I've never listened to Jaws 2 apart from the track that is on that album.Karol
Incanus 5,890 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 You should rectify that ASAP! Jaws 2 is a terrific score. Marian Schedenig 1
KK 3,313 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 You should rectify that ASAP! Jaws 2 is a terrific score.+1
crocodile 9,724 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Yeah, it's almost impossible to get, though...Karol
Naïve Old Fart 13,021 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Yeah, it's almost impossible to get, though...KarolIt wasn't in 1978!
publicist 4,650 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Though the cover was the same, it still looked better on LP:
Joe Brausam 234 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Good things come those who wait! Snagged the War Horse FYC on eBay for $24 shipped.Edit: Actually now I'm nervous, since I can see the seller's email address now and know who it may be..
Joe Brausam 234 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Indeed, I was. Once I saw the guy's name on my Paypal receipt I realized he was someone known for selling CD-R's. It's a shame, but live and learn I suppose.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Just report it to PayPal and get your money back.
Trent B 354 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 My recent purchase was the Star Trek Deep Space Nine set from LLL. I think I'll have it by Friday maybe Saturday at the latest.
Joe Brausam 234 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Just report it to PayPal and get your money back.Do you think that would work, before he even mails out the CD?
Marian Schedenig 11,694 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 No, that'll just lose him his PayPal guarantees.I once bought a video card off some guy on eBay for €100. He didn't mail it for weeks, giving different excuses or simply not replying to my messages at all. I filed a complaint with PayPal, after which he finally mailed the video card. It was broken. When I tried to change the PayPal complaint from "not sent" to "defective", it turned out that you can't change the type of complaint. And you also can't close it and open another complaint for the same eBay order. In PayPal's own words, they have to draw the line somewhere. My comment that this left a huge hole for abuse was ignored. But perhaps they've changed their terms since then.
indy4 160 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Ordered the following:Hercules - Alan MenkenTarzan - Phil CollinsHairspray (film score)Impresario/The Beneficient Dervish - MozartGoodbye, Mr. Chips - Leslie Bricuse, John Williams
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Just report it to PayPal and get your money back. Do you think that would work, before he even mails out the CD?Wait until you get it so you can factually say it's fake. Joe Brausam 1
Richard P 5,302 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Yeah it's unreasonable to accuse the seller before you've even got the item, regardless of reputation.Plus, did the listing definitely say it was pressed?
TheTennisBallKid 27 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 (been meaning to get this for a while, finally ordered largely because of some of the recent comments about the Memoirs of a Geisha suite)I'm listening to The Five Sacred Trees right now, I'm not really familar with Williams' concert work, so this is new territory for me.Another Gerhardt crossed off the list; this disc tends to get mixed reviews, from what I've seen (James Southhall's fervent recommendation seems to be an exception), I'm curious to judge for myself. My second Gordon (already have Moby Dick), I'm begining to think this guy can do no wrong. What else of his do I need? Incanus and publicist 2
crocodile 9,724 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 You need this: Karol - who needs to get On the Beach sometime (it's great) Marian Schedenig 1
Incanus 5,890 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 On a trip to the few local CD stores still in existence here in Helsinki I made a delightful find in the used CDs bin:The original soundtrack album of E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, which I have been wanting for ages and for only 4,5€ crocodile 1
crocodile 9,724 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Excellent find! A much better album than the 1996-2002 ones.Karol
Incanus 5,890 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Indeed. I just took a listen to it again this morning and it is more of a concept album on the themes found in the film than a collection of cues from the film. And it really makes for a great listening experience.
crocodile 9,724 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 The Spiderwick Chronicles (Horner)Revolution (Corigliano)Frozen Planet (Fenton)Karol
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I felt it was time to clear a few titles off my SAE wish list and discovered that GDM is reissuing a remastered Django. Needless to say, I immediately placed an order. I had the older expanded edition on my list for years, it was $38. Now $22 with better sound! publicist 1
Matt C 605 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I got the following last week:When Nietzche WeptTrinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb MovieEye of the Eagle: Film Music of Soren Hyldgaard

Jay 46,241 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Picked up John Powell's Robots and the No Alternative compilation when I found them for $2 each at the local Savers
crocodile 9,724 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Robots might be one of his most colourful works. It's a charming little album.Karol
