MrJosh 1,205 Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Ahhhhh, Corn on the Cob has ruined Duel of the Fates now!
Josh500 1,620 Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Has anyone seen this? It's(almost) the full chat between JW and SS:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3i1D6ugcrUhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eZsiD6MRtoThis is great, thanks!
indy4 160 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Why Star Wars is sexist. While their characterization of Leia might be accurate, the male characters have similar if not worse flaws than she does, so I'm not sure that part is accurate. That said, there's definitely not a lot of strong female role models in the OT.http://www.cracked.com/video_18249_why-star-wars-secretly-terrifying-women.html

KingPin 247 Posted May 19, 2012 Author Posted May 19, 2012 Williams arrangement (I think) of DebussyIt's a bit cut off, but at the bottom of the screen at the beginning it says that it was aranged by Eric Knight.
Tom 6,860 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 yeah, I don't know how I missed that. wonderful arrangment nonetheless, and nice to see Williams conducting it.
Maglorfin 219 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 This is my recent arrangement of Carrie main theme for vibes and flute I've written in memory of my dear friend's Dad who passed away (cancer) a couple of years ago, and was a great musician and a very nice guy. However, his son (himself a soundtrack junkie) organises a wind band film music concert every year (for the last 5 years), and this arrangement was performed at the last concert, a month or so ago. Both girls did a great job but unfortunately they gave a wrong mike to the flute player so the sound is not too good (she plays much better than can be heard here). Well anyway I thought y'all should have an opportunity to hear this; hope you like it.
Goldfingers 137 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I don't know if someone have already noticed that here but the first tv channel in France took the music of Jaws for the opening of their news programs:(Old version and new version)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU6s2Zz9Jws&feature=relatedAnd here a guy who explains how they changed the Williams theme to make their opening music : (in french)
KK 3,313 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 That's crazy stuff and rather interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Incanus 5,890 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 It's almost a given that Sean Bean dies in any movie he is in. It is not even a spoiler, it just something he does so well as an actor. Typecast to death.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,386 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Fuck, that pic startled me!Quite a day you are have Chuck!
Maglorfin 219 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 It's almost a given that Sean Bean dies in any movie he is in.Yeah, almost - he doesn't die e.g. in Ronin!
Maglorfin 219 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Does anybody know this piece? I've never heard it or about it until the Slovenian Philharmonic concert a few days ago and I was fascinated! Sounds totally like film music to me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wPD48CcxVo
Romão 2,473 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Sure, it's quite famous. It's a sort of Prokofievian Rie of Spring
Hlao-roo 390 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Only music that inspires riots can be considered great!
Muad'Dib 2,059 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 That was fantastic!!!Can you recommend any more Prokofiev that goes into that territory? Thanks in advance!
Maurizio 6,913 Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 That was fantastic!!!Can you recommend any more Prokofiev that goes into that territory? Thanks in advance!Check any of his ballet scores, esp. Romeo & Juliet, The Stone Flower, Cinderella.
Maglorfin 219 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Sure, it's quite famous. It's a sort of Prokofievian Rie of Spring I thought exactly the same thing while listening to it.
hornist 1,261 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Me too but I'm not the biggest fan of Rite. I've played Scythian couple of times, it's kind of cool and eight horns! butI like more Sergei's rounder side like Romeo & Juliet.
Romão 2,473 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 That was fantastic!!!Can you recommend any more Prokofiev that goes into that territory? Thanks in advance!I'd reccomend Jarvi's recording of the October Cantata. Now, that's an absolutely massive, crazy, out of control piece of music. It's overwhelming
nightscape94 968 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Sorry if this was covered, but I did a word search and didn't find anything. Just came across this Muse song. Listen to the section starting at 1:34[media=]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eB1OkuN8vdU
Xander Harris 9,674 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 That Ghostbusters performance is incredible. Also, yes, the similarity to TOD in that song was discussed a while back.
Jay 46,242 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Sorry if this was covered, but I did a word search and didn't find anything. Just came across this Muse song. Quintus 6,495 Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 It's a great time to be a gamer Damn, that's impressive.
Wojo 2,458 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Strangely attractive, witty, and brave for doing this.[media=] She's crazy, but she's gonna be big.
hornist 1,261 Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Damn I hate songs, words. Popular music.Nothing happened to Star Wars. They are just movies for kids. Muad'Dib 1
Brónach 1,330 Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Yes. One of which just happens to be a masterpiece. But who cares.
hornist 1,261 Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Yes masterpiece with millions of views in your world. But not in mine.
Brónach 1,330 Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I doubt that I've seen it more than four or five times. Were you the one who refused to see it? Or was it Mr Penna?
Wojo 2,458 Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 This is for king mark.[media=]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBI68Il4ZscThe Star Wars Gotye parody is brilliant. The YouTube clips moan that now Weird Al won't be able to do that. Weird Al will be able to use Gotye's song, of that there is little doubt. It's just not in his best interest to release a song that chastises Lucas or the prequels.
Ren 77 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Shit like that is amazing. Why do schools have to be do obsolete? Can't use it And the gotye star wars is pretty good, couldn't use the naked in class. And it's ssoooooo unfortunate that kids wouldn't get it at all and would totally be bored with the video ;-)

Wojo 2,458 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 This is absolutely adorable. Sad that he's like this but so awesome that it isn't slowing him down. And yes, I thought the same thing, too. Anakin lost an arm in addition to both legs...
BurgaFlippinMan 7 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I go on a binge of devinsupertramp's youtube channel once in a while. He also shoots the videos for Lindsey Stirling
