A24 5,156 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 If that makes you feel better.Sorry for posting it.
A24 5,156 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 It looks like regular sci-fi concept art to me (from long before this Halo you are mentioning) but there are certain nice elements in it like the house in the air or the flying vehicles with spherical cockpits.
Brónach 1,330 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 The gigantic, square floating structure that blocks the Sun looks interesting.
Jay 46,244 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Rather then continuing the story of Terminator Salvation, they are rebooting the Terminator franchisehttp://www.darkhoriz...rminator-rebootLuckily the film rights revert back to James Cameron in 2019 and the madness will end
Quintus 6,496 Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Ho hum.Still sat here patiently waiting for Mary Poppins reboot.

BloodBoal 8,711 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Rather then continuing the story of Terminator Salvation, they are rebooting the Terminator franchisehttp://www.darkhoriz...rminator-rebootI want them to do this for the reboot:
Quintus 6,496 Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Ho hum.Still sat here patiently waiting for Mary The Terminator Poppins reboot.awesome.Come with me if you want to feed the birds.
Wojo 2,458 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Bill Murray and Ghostbusters 3 just won't go away.
Jay 46,244 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 "Ghostbusters 3" without Bill Murray would likely have been a big hit any way. But with him, it'll probably be the biggest movie of 2014LOL Yea, right.Something tells me Captain America 2, Robopocalypse, Amazing Spider-man 2, How To Train Your Dragon 2, Transformers 4, The Hobbit 3, and Hunger Games 3 will make more money
Quintus 6,496 Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 Bill Murray has always been the biggest movie star in the world, Jason.

Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Speaking of Bill Murray, Roman Coppola's film looks pretty good:
Wojo 2,458 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/film-news/9715461/Casablanca-sequel-will-end-in-disaster.html
Wycket 36 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 They've been trying to do it since the 80s IIRC. Doubtful it will happen, but if it does I'm sure it will go the way of the Casablanca tv show and be quickly forgotten.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Can't be as bad as The Untouchables: Capone Rising.
Jay 46,244 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I wonder where this lamp will turn up next
Quintus 6,496 Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 It'll be in Bag End. In 48fps.Really, really distracting.
Quintus 6,496 Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 Hmm, I'm sort of turned off by Tom Cruise as blockbuster leading man. It's a brilliant poster actually, but it's a shame they didn't get someone a bit less... irritating.
Jay 46,244 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Anything with an April release shows me the studio doesn't have too much faith in it
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 No that's January and February. April sort of, but there have been good ones. If anything, it says it's not a blockbuster type, which means it could have great potential in my eyes.
Matt C 605 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Anything with an April release shows me the studio doesn't have too much faith in itUh... maybe the studio wants to get a good movie out with little to no competition? The Hunger Games, Alice in Wonderland, 300, The Lorax and Fast Five were all released in the spring... and they all made a TON of money. March and April dates don't have that stigma they once had years back.Speaking of spring releases, 20th Century Fox actually set a March 6, 2015 date for their reboot, The Fantastic Four.
A24 5,156 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 "The director of Tron Legacy" doesn't bode very well.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I really enjoyed Tron: Legacy in theaters. At home not as much, but it's still a visually striking film.
Quintus 6,496 Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 It's worth watching just for Jeff Bridges awesome delivery of the movie's opening lines. "Then one day... I gad in!" is uber cool. publicist 1
A24 5,156 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 It looked good but it was without expression. Good visual storytelling is about expression, emotion.
Quintus 6,496 Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 It is, but that's not to say Tron Legacy wasn't visually interesting in a superficial sense. Like a great fireworks display, it was eye catching at a base, flashing lights sensory level, which is fine too. But yeah, if I'd gone in expecting lyricism and expression I'd have been really disappointed.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 It's worth watching just for Jeff Bridges awesome delivery of the movie's opening lines."Then one day... I gad in!" is uber cool. The very rare instance that I like dialogue with the score.
Matt C 605 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 I really enjoyed Tron: Legacy in theaters. At home not as much, but it's still a visually striking film.Tron Legacy is a perfect exercise of sumptuous visuals and beautiful score. If the script actually delivered something, it'd be a knockout.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Trailer is out: I was hoping it would have been more exploratory loneliness along the lines of I Am Legend. I'll see it for Morgan Freeman. Seems like Kosinski went with another electronic group for the score, M.8.3.
Matt C 605 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 It looks really good, much better than I thought it'd look. If the story delivers as much as the visuals do, I think this could be a sleeper hit next year.
Jay 46,244 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Wow that looks really good! The third act might even live up to the first two
publicist 4,650 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Wow that looks really good! The third act might even live up to the first twoLet's not get ahead of ourselves. If the score is halfway as successful as Daft Punk's, i'll be happy.
crocodile 9,724 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Daft Punk's score was successful?Yeah, I know it was a strong seller and it may have worked it the film (which I haven't seen). But there is nothing, absolutely nothing fresh about it.Karol
A24 5,156 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 It seems like something my kid would be interested in. And here's a poster for Michael Bay's low budget movie Pain & Gain:
A24 5,156 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Look at the window. They are in space.Probably doing some weighlessness tests with weights.
Quintus 6,496 Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 So it's a sort of science drama along the lines of A Beautiful Mind meets Apollo 13? Kudos to Bay for going outside of his comfort zone, I can see Dwayne Johnson breaking out as a serious actor in this, a Best Actor Oscar win a dead cert.
A24 5,156 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 If Bay can do small budget movies, why can't Williams?
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Just because there are no robots and explosions you assume it's low budget? Their salaries combined is probably more than most independent movies.
A24 5,156 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 20 million dollar is peanuts for a Bay movie. He is known for making very expensive movies with lots of things blowing up. That's why we jokingly say, it's a small budget movie.
