KK 3,313 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Yeah... now THIS is fan-fiction poppycock. Bring on all the Tauriel, Azog, and bunnies you want PJ.They're not just any bunnies you know. They're the Bunnies of Doom.
Bilbo 4,294 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I'll probably still buy it because I'm an idiot and that.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I actually made a amateur film about what happens when you get stabbed by a Morgul Blade......It was much better than this sounds
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 There is film canon, and Book canon. And it definitely aint Tolkien
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 You have not seen DOS or TABA yet.You don't know what PJ has in store!
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Bard is too young to have a child with children/a family......
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 He's the one who imprisoned the Witch-King. Now, the Nazgul get their revenge on his son.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 You don't know how old he is. Maybe he's one of the Dunedain and is more than 80 years old in the films! He is a northmen, not a dunedain, though they are kin.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Wow, its nice, that post, did you do it yourself?
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 But... an elf and a mortal man falling in love? Daring! Where do you dream these things up?There's already half a female in the mix though. Duh, WITCH-KING... clearly the greatest of the nine was intended to be a hermaphrodite.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 But... an elf and a mortal man falling in love?Totally a rip-off of Berethor and....whatshername
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Wow, its nice, that post, did you do it yourself? It's 100% BloodBoal. But its full of holes?
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Chrochet holes, and a wonderful game it is too....
Bilbo 4,294 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 But... an elf and a mortal man falling in love?Totally a rip-off of Berethor and....whatshernameIdrial.How did they get away with a character called Morwen in that game actually? Is Morwen referenced in LOTR somewhere? *Don't have one of my 3 billion copies with me to check*
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 From what I know, some of the character models were based on extras in the movies (But don't quote me on that)

Bilbo 4,294 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 How did they get away with a character called Morwen in that game actually? Is Morwen referenced in LOTR somewhere?http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/MorwenSorry I wasn't very clear. I know she's in the Silmarillion but they don't have the rights to use names from there as far as I know so I was wondering if the name crops up elsewhere to allow them to use it.They're definitely very different characters.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,384 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Unfinished Tales has a different version of Narn i Chîn Húrin or The Tale of the Children.Do they have the rights to that one?
Jay 46,241 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I believe The Hobbit and LOTR are the ONLY works of Tolkien that have been licensed out.
Bilbo 4,294 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 No I think Tolkien only ever sold the film rights to The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The Tolkien Estate still has the film rights to The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales (and subsequent books). If there's a Morwen mentioned somewhere in the Appendices to The Lord of the Rings then they could use the name.At least that's what I'm assuming. PJ couldn't mention the names of the Blue Wizards in The Hobbit but he could mention them generally.EDIT: Damn you LeBlanc!
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Fascinating. How do we feel about this?http://collider.com/jrr-tolkien-biopic-tolkien/
gkgyver 1,647 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Fascinating. How do we feel about this?http://collider.com/jrr-tolkien-biopic-tolkien/More Shore I say
Code 000. Destruct. 0. 4,262 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Perhaps in an intimate, chamber-like, English flavored mode? I'll take it.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Great... I'm expecting very original scenes, like for example Tolkien seeing a friend die during a battle, then right after that, him writing the death of Boromir... As long as they include C.S. Lewis with a hook, I guess we'll be OK.Not if they want to keep to history, Tolkien did not start writing LOTR until the 30's/40'sC.S. Lewis will have a deep voice
Incanus 5,890 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Honestly even though Tolkien's life was not devoid of dramatic turns, creating a movie out it seems redundant.
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 What if Oliver Stone directs and Williams scores
Incanus 5,890 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 What if Oliver Stone directs and Williams scores Do not tempt me Faleel!
Quintus 6,494 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 I'd love John to score this actually.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,384 Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Wont happen!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,384 Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 I am looking for a website which will help me to translate text from English to Tengwar. There are a few quotes from LOTR that I want to have translated in correct Elvish grammar.Anyone know a good resource?
Rachael Foley 10,162 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Well, there is a Google translate like site for elvish translating (probably not that accurate)and there is a Elvish dictionary site, thats all I can think of..
