Josh500 1,620 Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Luckily, I am still quite healthy so far... but I am starting to think that I might have a touch of hypochondriasis.Recently, I am thinking (though maybe not exactly worrying) more and more often about my health. Is it healthy to eat this or that, should I do this or that to stay healthy, when should I see my doctor next, etc. etc. And when I do see my doctor, what questions do I ask, etc.A healthy person usually doesn't think about his health very often, does he? Sometimes, sure, but not often. My blood pressure was a little high for some time, but now it's back to normal. That was the only health issue in my recent past.
hornist 1,261 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 It's not hypochondriasis, people just start increasingly to worry about their health in age 30-40. Quite normal.Been there, seen it.
Brónach 1,330 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I'm doing more exercise now. First thing in the morning.
Incanus 5,890 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I'm doing more exercise now. First thing in the morning. That's what I promise to myself quite often. It would be great if it amounted to actually doing some and not just thinking about it.

alicebrallice 134 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I don't drink too much, almost never smoke, exercise regularly, eat a lot of herbs and greens everyday and I'm almost never ill (3 years ago I had never taken a painkiller pill).but a while back when I was gonna stay up all night and study I downed a big can of energy drink and two big cups of coffee:( (I get dizzy and shaky after two small cups), I was absolutely sure I was gonna die, and after that I'm a bit hypochondriac myself hehe:(
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,387 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I don't drink a lot (SHUT UP!). Never smoke, don't exercise enough, prefer meat and starchy food over greens and take ibuprofen about once a week.

You're funny! You drank one energy drink and two cups of coffee, and ever since that out-of-body experience your world has never been the same...? I don't drink a lot (SHUT UP!). Never smoke, don't exercise enough, prefer meat and starchy food over greens and take ibuprofen about once a week. What do you take ibuprofen for? Hangover? Headache?
Ren 77 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I used to drink, I was a martini a night kinda girl. But now I'm on duty much of the time so I haven't really drank much since, oh January 2011.
hornist 1,261 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Wow, never heard such a compliment for a beautiful girl.

alicebrallice 134 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 HAHAHA. You're funny! You drank one energy drink and two cups of coffee, and ever since that out-of-body experience your world has never been the same...? add a massive panic attack caused by the thought of that I was gonna die to that and you're correct I don't drink too much, almost never smoke, exercise regularly, eat a lot of herbs and greens everydayYou're a cow!I take that as a compliment. cows are awesome. Wow, never heard such a compliment for a beautiful girl.(3 years ago I had never taken a painkiller pill).Really? yes! I had never felt the need.
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Most women I know are or were at some point on pain meds at least for 3 days a month. But I guess everyone is different.I can also understand that, as the only time I've ever really taken pain meds is when I felt like I was going to die if I didn't. Otherwise I feel the pain is a good way to assess how well you're doing.
Incanus 5,890 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 So basically what doesn't kill you makes you stronger?
Incanus 5,890 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I can't believe you could turn that cow comment around and to your advantage BloodBoal and emerge from that completely unscathed. You lucky lucky man!
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 So basically what doesn't kill you makes you stronger?tell that to a burn survivor with 80% of their skin burnt off.
Incanus 5,890 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 So basically what doesn't kill you makes you stronger?tell that to a burn survivor with 80% of their skin burnt off.I would think you can't survive that so that you would live to tell tha tale even if you might live some time afterwards. Or are there known survivors of such bad burns?
BLUMENKOHL 1,110 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 So basically what doesn't kill you makes you stronger?tell that to a burn survivor with 80% of their skin burnt off.If they don't commit suicide, that's making them stronger in my book. That takes some serious mental resilience.
