I usually am not a fan of classic pork/red meat dishes but for tonight I'm making a pretty standard pork roast, done in the oven with a nice array of vegetables. On the side, green beans, turnips, beets, and homemade rolls.

I always buy a pork roast and beef roast and cook them together. Makes a delicious meal.

No bacon. Usually an English roast and a Boston butt.

Home-made tomato florentine soup with Italian meatballs, a conservative dose of marinara, and topped with freshly-cut chives and cilantro.

Meatloaf and 2 twice baked potatoes casserole.

One for the normal people and one for the vegatarians.

Wink wink.

Oh and some asparagus. Gosh our pee is gonna stink.

I promised the vegetarians I'd make the some egg salad. I've learned you can unboil a hard boiled egg.

Tried a new italian place tonight. The food was great. The waiter looked as good as the dishes.

Everyone find the nearest source of Zapps potato chips. Get the Sweet Creole Onion flavored. Thank me later.

Hmmm, don't think we have those around here

I get them at a restaurant but cannot find them in Stores. They are so good.

I thought about starting a "What are you eating this morning?" thread, but it'd be pretty redundant, not to mention it's after noon.

I'm having a bagel with cream cheese and a cup of English Breakfast.

Posted

I made an omelet with mushrooms, tomato, spinach, and cheese, with frozen waffles and a glass of milk.

Posted

Had a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Personal size but it was plenty.

I think I will roast a pork butt tonight while we sleep.

No. I wanted to make something different but the store did not have any.

Well what a disappointment Chipotles was. No cheese dip. It's a Fricking mexican place without cheese dip.

Fail.

Posted

It's not a full menu restaurant though, it's a fast casual place with like 3 things on the menu. They are not trying to be anything they are not. And their burritos are good!

Boloco and Moe's Southwest is better, though.

Posted

Moe's has a decent cheese dip. Even Blue Coast Burrito has one. In Arkansas cheese dip is essential. It is afterall the cheese dip capitol of the world.

Not queso mind you. Cheese dip.

Man you don't know good eats if that is top 5.

good eats?

Five Guys is too pricy and they feature mediocre burgers and fries. To their credit they give you lots of fries but I'd rather go to McD's for fries cheaper and better. Wendy's is so gross I never considered them. I've never had a l/4 burger there that wasn't raw. And they have those horrible sea salt fries. In and Out isn't around here so I can't judge. I don't know what Pot Belly's is? Subs, grinders?

Chipotles is the same as Moe's Blue Coast and Q'dobas. I don't eat much fast food. I'd rather go get a gyro, or a bowl of hot and sour soup. I can go to my fav. Chinese place and for 5.45 get a bowl of soup, an egg roll, a plate of Chefs beef(garlicy stir fried beef) and fried rice.

Mooyas and Dave's burgers are better hamburger joints than 5 guys. My Dave makes a great burger. I like a big slice of red onion on mine. No cheese at home for me please.

Potbelly's is a sub place. Didn't mean insinuate that these are all great places to eat, but for fast food I think they are. Like you, I'd much rather get something a little more wholesome. Haven't had a good gyro in forever.

I love how Americans can discuss fast food restaurants like they are fine art.

We're just ahead of the curve. You just wait.

Well many fast food restaurants are everywhere and this commonality gives people something to passionately talk about. A lot of the best slo the sit-down restaurants you'll find are not national chains, so they don't merit widespread discussion with members in so many corners of the US.

surrender and we will.

I bought a roast chicken today with a side of Thai noodles and bbq beans. Weird combo but it worked.

I thought the noodles were veggie for the nieces but it had anchovies as it turned out. I didn't lie to them. The brother in law and I chowed down on them.

Koray I know at least a half dozen places within 30 minutes to get either a good to great gyro in LR. I will treat you if you're ever in the Rock.

Just read that keeping butter unrefrigerated is fine.

I've known that for most of my life as Grandmother Allen always left it out. It never went rancid because

It has little water content and the addition of salt helps. But sitting out it was soft and delicious.

it was often homemade but it's still cheaper to buy though I made some once. Didn't last long but it took some arm work to make.

We're curvy from all that fast food.

Curvy? I know big, healthy, husky, fluffy, damn, and oh hell no...

Yes Stefan I leave some cheese out to soften. Some flavors expand when at room temps.

First, tonight must arrive.

Then I shall state what I shall be eating.

Until that time comes, I cannot... WILL NOT... attempt to blindly guess my future.

Chili and grilled cheese sandwiches.
