Looking forward to A Christmas Carol, though I think I've already got a lossless download of that one.

From Douglas Fake:

With our two newest CD releases for this coming Tuesday, July 23, you dear listeners will get your fill of Disney music, both action-filled and magically lyrical. Announced earlier, The Lone Ranger by Hans Zimmer brings, of course, plenty of action and is our latest Disney/Intrada co-brand CD featuring the score to a current Disney feature. Our other title, also featuring Disney music on a Disney/Intrada co-brand, offers the premiere of a lyrical and magical score for an animation feature made just a few years ago. Its delicate and charming score is happily now available for everyone to enjoy!

Did Tangled get a CD release?

Yes it did.

TINKERBELL/McNeely seems likely.

Yeah very likely yes.

Roger already told us all it was McNeely's Tinkerbell.

Intrada is working on a CD release of Craig Safan's Mission of the Shark, but the reason Roger Feigelson already told this is not because he wanted to...

Guys, I know you are good upstanding citizens and would not be interested in supporting a business that is not on the level. I don't usually discuss upcoming projects, as you know, but I have spent considerable amount of time unraveling some legal tangles on Craig Safan's MISSION OF THE SHARK and finally got clearance from all interested parties last week -- just in time to see Perseverance scooped out three tracks and put them on a promo that is unlicensed. This will not impact our project because we intend to release the entire score paired with another Safan score, but I am really frustrated to see this complete disregard for the rules when I worked pretty hard to get this one cleared.

Note however that the Perseverance CD was released with permisson of Craig Safan. Safan provided the tapes himself.

Later in that thread MV from LaLaLand chimed in with this:
He tried to pull a fast one with CHARMED earlier this year while we were in negotiations with CBS on the damn project. Luckily we stopped the release in its tracks before his bootleg copy got out there.

Fight the good fight, Roger!

How is he continuing to release albums on his label if he's doing it illegally or cutting corners?

Perseverance has always had a shady track record....not sure why people support them.

Latest Intrada titles going Out Of Print (On August 12th):

Stu Philips - Battlestar Galactica Volume 1

Laurence Rosenthal - The Forgotten

And yes, The Forgotten was just released 3 weeks ago. Crazy.

In other news, Roger posted that there will be no August 6th titles due to vacation; And the August 20th titles were already announced last month (Once Upon A Time Season 2 and Revenge), so no new catalog releases for Intrada until September 3rd.

Posted

Vacation? Surely just an excuse made up because the August 6 titles already went out of print!

Hey cut Roger a break, sometimes even the founders of the labels deserve a vacation now and then.

Fommes was being sarcastic, Trent.

Dang - Uncommon Valor is one of those titles I bought a while back and still haven't opened. Could've saved myself $8! Oh well

Awesome! Snagged myself a copy of King Kong Lives! Probably the cheapest it'll ever be! Been holding off for a while, mostly because I knew it wasn't expanded at all. But it's such an awesome score! And great to finally not have the sound effects over some of the cues like the older foreign album had!

Oh sweet might get this King Kong Lives too when I get paid later this week. It seems like a cool album

Got King Kong Lives yesterday. :D God I love this album. Awesome without the sound effects! Recommend this one for sure, at this price especially! Sale is almost over.

The Core is gonig to be OOP.

It's a MUST HAVE. Go get it before too late!!

Thanks for the warning! Just grabbed it.

Part of me wants this album. But then, as solid as it might be, I can never get to the end.

So when is GHOST AND THE DARKNESS coming along? Waiting for a reason to order INSURRECTION.

First clues for August 20th titles

One is from a hit drama that airs right after Once Upon a Time (hint: It's REVENGE). The other is a double header -- one early 90s drama score that is gorgeous paired with a late 80s bittersweet teen comedy. Simply a really enjoyable album.

Doug's Corner on tonight's releases

8/18/13
As announced recently, we will be releasing the soundtrack from ABC's hit series REVENGE this coming Tuesday, August 20. Scored by Izler with a slant towards traditional scoring over a current trendy sound design approach, the results are exciting. Also being offered on the same day is a CD premiering two scores, one coming from the late eighties, the other from the early nineties. Both feature music by veteran composers who have appeared on the Intrada label many times before.

2 or 3 years after Lukas Kendall warned everyone not to buy the Harkit release of Sebastian because it was hinted at being in the works, Intrada will release it Sept. 3rd.

It's actually been almost 4 1/2 years! Time flies...

Over in the never-ending Poltergeist 2 Bruce vs Doug/Roger thread on Intrada, Roger mentioned this tidbit about a release coming out next year:

Interestingly we are reissuing an album (next year) that first came out in the 80s and the three-track were not folded down properly, resulting in everything shifting to the center. While it's not mono per se, much of the stereo separation is gone. This same master was reissued a couple of years ago. We're remixing to restore the proper stereo balance. (Same issue that happened with Perseverance's MUTANT...people were complaining it sounded like mono. It wasn't, but whoever remixed the three track for got an important detail so the center channel was dominant).

What could it be?

-80s title

-A different label recently (within the last 5 years?) re-issued the original LP program

Hmm....

I know one album that fits, Jarre's Top Secret!.

Varese's club release is atrocious as far as sound goes. Everything is in the center. I can't recall if it got an LP release or not.

Posted

Varese issued an LP of Top Secret! in 1984, and then released that master on CD in 2005, so it fits the clues in that regard.

Of course if you take Roger's "a couple of years ago" literally, than 2005 is too early, and it would have to be something that came out in the 2010s. Who knows.
