Howard Shore's The Battle of the Five Armies (Hobbit Part 3)

Mithril is pretty intense. Smaug's Theme taking over everything!

Then super fun Lake-town at the end!

Followed by House of Durin! Woah this is really cool! Dwarven chanting behind it!

Fellowship theme in Courage and Wisdom, and after that comes mesmerizing bliss. Also, the choral/vocal work continues, I cannot understate this. Especially not after the GRAND moment in To the Death!

I guess so. It's in Beyond the Forest

Clouds Burst features the Nazgul theme for a hot second?

Around 2 minute mark

Probably

Fun variation of Erebor theme to start Battle for the Mountain

Realizing now a lot of the samples start very close to the start of the track, so the ends of all the tracks is where we'll be hearing all the fun new stuff

Some deliciously evil stuff in Battle For The Mountain

Wow Bard and Family is Battle for the Mountain is great!

I LOVE the variation of Gandalf's theme in Guardians of Three. Absolutely beautiful!

And are those nazgul harmonies in the female registers?

Lake-town/Bard in Darkest Hour is beautiful!

Erm, not sure I like how the quiet ending of that track leads right to the explosive opening of Sons of Durin, Hopefully there is music that goes between those bits in the actual film....

On Gathering of the Clouds...the thematic variations are crazy...

Omg, the mithril oboe solo!! Damn you Shore...nothing gets past you eh?!

Gotta say, kinda fitting that the first (FOTR Cannes) and last (Courage and Wisdom) variation of the Fellowship theme recorded was done so by the NZSO.

I'm liking the long length all the tracks have

The Fallen is nice, but probably the first "non-essential" track?

Ravenhill is amazing

Like The Trollshaws?

I know, right? That part was really cool

I think there's some bits that show up in both the Legolas Vs Bolg fight from DOS as well as "To The Death" that I suppose we'll have to catergorize as a new theme....

I'm just at "Clouds Burst", but so far...this score is sounding brilliant!!

Not until KK and Inky are OK with that.

I'll let you know once I get there. ;)

Of course Inky and I must consult first.

Loving Dain's arrival in "the Clouds Burst"

Indeed!

But the small Weakness and Redemption styled motif in The Woodland Realm that appears also in BOFA is probably related to Thranduil. Still have to see the film to confirm this though but it seems to be surrounded by the Woodland Realm theme on the soundtrack.

I agree. It's sounding more and more like Thranduil's pride instead...

He is coveting the white jewels!

Too bad the ending of To The Death loses it's epicness. I'm sure that's the part removed for the Standard version

Time for my listening.

I remember, back in november 2001 when I heard for first time ever my new cd of FOTR... And now...the end of Middle Earth soundtracks...

Crazy isn't it? This is our last Middle-Earth score...

I absolutely love the opening of "Fire and Water" by the way...those textures. I think TGP will love that bit!

Wow Bard's Family gets quite the workout doesn't it? :music:Battle for the Mountain

Again, maybe it's Bilbo's theme, finally back in the forefront!

If only... :(

Nah, why would it be in Fire And Water?

Why would the Gondor Reborn theme be in A Good Omen (film version)?

Why would Aragorn eat chinese food?

Well, Bilbo's Adventure Theme returns briefly in The Return Journey at least.

No sign of his main theme yet.
