We know #1 is Shaft

We know #3 is The Passion Of The Christ

Could #5 be Star Trek Enterprise? Was that going to be a 4CD set instead of a 3CD like DS9 and TNG were?

Or could #5 be another Warner Animated title? Superman TAS v2? Animaniacs? Tiny Toons?

Do we know if one of these titles is the one for which Neil S. Bulk wept?

I'm really curious about that one!

Could #3 be Ghostbusters 2?

I'm sure it was mentioned here at some point that the masters had been found (having previously been reported as MIA). I can't wait for it.

#3 is Passion Of The Christ. Why would Ghostbusters 2 be limited to 10,000 units?

I haven't seen The Passion of the Christ since it was in theater (I would have been 12 at the time) and don't remember anything of the score. Is it worth checking out?

Would Shaft be limited to 2,500 though? I would think that Arnold would sell more.

There is a widely circulated bootleg around since 2001 and i am not completely sure if more than 2500 people are willing to upgrade.

So we already know Arnold's "Shaft" is one of the two single discs and Debney's "Passion" is the 2cd set. I have a feeling the other single cd might be a golden age score. Or possibly The Terminator assuming that that one isn't apart of the Varese batch coming up. The reason I mentioned Terminator because Fiedel mentioned a release was coming on facebook a couple of months ago. That 4cd that's 49.99 might be Voyager or Enterprise. No clue of what the other 4cd could be though.

THE DANNY ELFMAN BATMAN COLLECTION: BATMAN / BATMAN RETURNS: LIMITED EDITION (4-CD SET) LLLC 1327

Limited Edition of 3000 Units

RETAIL PRICE: $49.98

In honor of Batman’s 75th Anniversary, La-La Land Records, Warner Bros. and WEA proudly present THE DANNY ELFMAN BATMAN COLLECTION: BATMAN / BATMAN RETURNS: LIMITED EDITION (4-CD SET). Batman swoops back into La-La Land with this thrilling re-issue of our previously out-of-print deluxe editions of Danny Elfman’s classic, original scores to the Tim Burton-directed BATMAN (1989) and BATMAN RETURNS (1992), presented together for the first time! While the programs presented on these discs are the same as found on our acclaimed initial releases, BATMAN (1989) has been overseen by producer Neil S. Bulk and newly remastered by James Nelson from recently unearthed score elements, resulting in better sound quality. (BATMAN RETURNS is the same master as our previous release.) Produced by Neil S. Bulk, Dan Goldwasser and MV Gerhard, this special release of 3000 units features gorgeous, completely re-designed packaging by Jim Titus. The 48-page booklet carries over the liner notes from our previous editions. The populace of Gotham would agree – this is one knockout presentation of two iconic scores from a legendary Dynamic Duo in its own right… Tim Burton and Danny Elfman!

Neil talked to me at length about the new Batman release when I was in the LLL offices in August. The new sound mix is a huge improvement over the initial release. The material used wasn't found yet when they made the old release, and isn't the same as what they had for the Elfman/Burton box either. And the new Jim Titus artwork frankly blows the previous B89 and BR artwork out of the water. With apologies to whoever did the Batman Returns artwork the first time around, it was incredibly hard to read John Takis' liner notes in that edition. In the new edition, the entire thing is very easy to read and just has great artwork throughout - as is typical with Jim Titus releases.

This is a great release, especially since the initial releases are long OOP and fetching over $200 each on the secondary market. Viva la LLL!

Why? It's a great release either way. You can sell your copy of both for enough money to pay for the new set, and the new set has better sound AND better artwork. What's not to like?

Or you get some for us for Christmas. I'm sure you negotiated a JWF discount when you visited LLL this summer, no?

OK, fine. I admit. My initial reacion was a bit too strong. I was just expecting a bigger earthquake. You know, after Star Trek V, Home Alone, two Die Hard scores, Lethal Weapon, even Superman Returns.

Now I need to figure out how to sell my sets of Batman and Batman Returns. If anyone wants them, let me know.

The new set has a clean ending to Batwing I cue.
