  1. You know what, with Alien day approaching and 4K release coming out next week I wouldn't be at all surprised. The previous expansion is over 20 years old now. Karol
  2. The bottom line is, the best presentation of this is score to something each listener would need to tailor for themselves. Neither of the official presentations is perfect for listening. Karol
  3. I created a double playlist with both Delerue and Horner scores back to back. I called it Some Things Wicked This Way Come. 😂 Karol
  4. Decided to go to this. The fact they are using real choir and soloists makes me more optimistic about this. Plus (almost) any live Horner is good. Karol
  5. It was the longer cut. I wasn't sure which one to see so went with this one. Did I make a mistake? Karol
  6. Went to watch Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire this afternoon with a friend. It was OK actually. Bit unfocused and overstuffed (or to be more specific, overcrowded) but I liked it more than Afterlife overall. I will forget it by tomorrow, of course, but not sure why it is not doing better, both in terms of box office and critical response. Bad timing, perhaps? Karol
  7. The Abyss on the new 4K disc. Can't tell you how it compares in terms of look because I've never seen it before. Very enjoyable movie, very impressive technically. It's probably bit less than sum of it parts as it feels like some better Cameron films but it certainly does not stop me from enjoying myself tremendously. Karol
  8. Conan the Destroyer. Yeah, it is a "bad" sequel. One of those goofy 80s fantasy movies. But it was nowhere near as terrible as I was expecting. Karol
  9. Somehow, Titurel has returned. It is the greatest unsung line in opera history. Karol
  10. Watched Paths of Glory the other night. What a fantastic movie this is, think it's one of Kubrick's best actually. It has all the hallmarks of his signature style but told in a brisk, fat-free, efficient way. A true screwball tragedy. Karol
  11. Received the CD yesterday. They mention John Williams building in the liner notes. Listening to the score this morning. Really fun and solid work. Between the original, Afterlife and this you have a nice Bernstein trilogy. Karol
