  1. My Hook arrived today from Mondo. Good to have a Matessino-rebuilt OST next to the new expansion. 😀 Karol
  2. Se7en. Bit rainy today in the UK so this fits the bill "nicely". I am always amused just how misleading the first (unused) cue is. Karol
  3. It's funny how Stravinsky "contributed" additional material for three consecutive Academy Award-winning scores in 1975-1977. 😉 Karol
  4. It's very chaotic and unfocused, true. But not without its pleasures. The opening, featuring the brooding Magneto theme, is among my favourite cues ever. Fortunately for any casual listeners, the LLL album features the film construct of the finale/end credits that contains all the best material in one neatly flowing suite. For the sheer majority, this is all you need. Karol
  5. Yeah, really nice episode. I really love Storm's voice. It sounds commanding and mighty. I think that it might be even better than un the original. Four more! Karol
  6. Fantastic score, really rich and enchanting. Interesting to see Elfman's use of gamelan, especially coupled with strings. He will echo that kind of writing in the opening movement of Rabbit & Rogue ballet many years later (my favouritebit from that work). Great liner notes, too. It was definitely worth the long wait. I am really interested in seeing the movie now. Karol
  7. Actually it was about Varese saying something negative about Jews and then she finds it ironic/funny that Goldsmith rips him off for Planet of the Apes. Something like that. But that quote, regardless of the "real" opinion of Goldsmith, has other context in the scene. Blanchett's character makes a point about associating composer's personality and/or opinions from their work in response to one student who didn't have any interest in Bach because he was a "straight white male". So it's more about (what people like to refer to as) "cancel culture" more than anything else. Karol
  8. I was quite happy with the show ending on season 3. But if they have more ideas in store, and more fun music to go with it, I am all in. Karol
  9. I love it dearly but for me The Agony and the Ecstasy takes that title. 😀 Karol
  10. Cleopatra. Fantastic score, among North's best. Very rich and always interesting. The three principal themes are to die for. Karol
