  1. Wowww! Outstanding and thank you for sharing the finished work but your process also. Bravo!
  2. @Steffromuk That Star Wars Anthology cover is masterful! I've seen that Tom Jung art as a b&w sketch. Did you color it, or did you find a color source? I love it.
  3. Thanks, Thor. I was eyeing those director compilations as well. Although I have yet to check how much of those are duplicated on the box set.
  4. I wonder if this is a good entry level purchase? Philippe Sarde Box Set
  5. @Thor @filmmusic I wouldn’t mind exploring Sarde, beyond his American films (Ghost Story, Tess, Quest for Fire, Manhattan Project) but it’s hard to navigate when he’s so prolific and I don’t speak French, nor do I know the films.
  6. He can’t stay down with three barrels on him. Not with three he can’t.
  7. I guess an artistic choice for the publisher and editor to show what went into the article, rather than just show another Williams photo. It’s not too uncommon to see that sort of thing in print mags.
  8. Yes precisely. I made a conscious effort to check my baggage at the door this time. I don’t think I’ve ever been hip, but sometimes a little time and distance allows the dust to settle so one can appreciate a piece without cynicism.
  9. So I want to pledge, but what’s the point? Doesn’t look like it’ll make it. I won’t lose my money. But if it somehow makes its goal and something “weird” happens, then I could actually lose my money? It’s the out of comparable project goal amount that makes me uneasy. Someone convince me, because I’d really like these, but my gut feels off.
  10. No. The photos and article are identical. The last page of the magazine has a nice photo of Goldie Hawn presenting Johnny with his Oscar. and the contents page has a behind the scenes pic. But Variety is a weird magazine. There are more pages of ads congratulating Lenny Kravitz for his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame than there are for JW.
  11. No, you were right. Honestly, it’s the Vejur ostinato that doesn’t thrill me. I truly wish I were wired to appreciate the Cloud and Vejur Flyover more. Maybe that’s it. Maybe I need to just study them. They aren’t completely featureless. I do like some of the chaotic woodwinds and percussion on top of the lower registers in the final minute of Vejur Flyover. It’s very Poltergeist. I consider the Thunder Road theme from Explorers to be cut from that same heroic nobility cloth as well.
  12. “I can’t imagine why…” you waited this long to pick this up!
