Fortunately, it was called just EVIL DEAD over here. It got lots of press at the time, though, and was heavily censored. VHS pirate copies of the uncensored version were doing their rounds in the underground. But I can talk about Norwegian renaming all day long. It was very common in the 80s and 90s, not so much anymore (mostly for kiddie films these days). One funny aspect is how we often prefaced many wacky comedies with the word "Hjelp" ("Help"). So you have: NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION -> HJELP, VI MÅ PÅ FERIE! -> HELP, WE MUST GO ON VACATION! CHRISTMAS VACATION -> HJELP, DET ER JULEFERIE! -> HELP, IT'S CHRISTMAS VACATION! SPINAL TAP -> HJELP, VI ER I POPBRANSJEN! -> HELP, WE'RE IN THE POP BUSINESS! AIRPLANE -> HJELP, VI FLYR! -> HELP, WE'RE FLYING! ....and many more. Loads of other things too, like DIE HARD being OPERASJON SKYSKRAPER (OPERATION SKYSCRAPER), DELIVERANCE being PIKNIK MED DØDEN (PICNIC WITH DEATH) and so on.

That would be great! Would love to see a comedy again that isn't too afraid to offend "current sensibilites" and thereby lose all its comic power. The original NAKED GUN movies had several skits that wouldn't work today. One of the reasons why I love them. Out of date for the win!

Will John Williams score Steven Spielberg's new UFO movie?
Thor replied to Jay's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I doubt the film ever comes to fruition. I don't believe a new Spielberg film is on the horizon until I know he's actually out and about, shooting it. -

Checking it out further, appears there's a remix version by Paterson himself that predates that A.I. shit. That's slightly more interesting, but still a far cry from a new David Gilmour studio album.

Yeah, I looked it up. Some A.I. shit experiment. No thanks.

It's hard to separate the two in this case. There's so much "wanking" in Mutter's version, it's hard to tell where the arrangement stops and the performance begins. But yeah -- still the Shaham, followed by the lean (but very charming, and thankfully TO-THE-POINT) trio version. I don't really care that much for either of these, however. It's one of those cases where there's only the original version for me.
-
Easily the Gil Shaham. I've never liked Mutter's style.

Yeah, threads like these are always a bit of a bummer. So many of my own favourites mentioned already, that somehow others don't like. The name of the game, I suppose.

I was going to say the same thing about A.I. in the first post. It shines in the OST, it's a chore on the expansion. A.I. has risen steadily to be a top 5 Williams for me - the beautiful ebb and flow between warm and cold there is unique in Williams' ouevre. As for the topic at hand, well several come to mind. Any given John Barry Bond score, for example. Or Herrmann's VERTIGO. Despite my many and best efforts, I've not been able to get into them.

What Is The Last Score You Listened To? (older scores)

Top 10, maybe even top 5 Silvestri for me. Nobody could do glorious Synclavier stuff like he did! Film is also a huge nostalgic favourite, one of my earliest cinema memories (partly shot in Norway, no less!). -
Another great album (my cover is different), but again -- it's from 2010. He hasn't released anything since RATTLE THAT LOCK in 2015, except that Ukraine song and another song with his daughter.

Did you just get a big pay check or something? -
Hooray for the late master of lounge! My top 10: 1. THE ADVENTURES OF THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE 2. Sunflower 3. Me, Natalie 4. Breakfast at Tiffany's 5. Peter Gunn 6. Switch 7. The White Dawn 8. Hatari 9. Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe? 10. The Pink Panther Strikes Again Also loads of great non-film albums, of course, like The Blues and the Beat, The Mancini Touch, Combo! etc., often featuring a young John Williams on piano.
