Maybe he wrote a song for it or somethng, I dunno.

Did he write a song used in the Tomorrowland area of Disney Land?

The Shermans wrote several iconic songs for Disney Parks, including Tomorrowland. "There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" is the most iconic, hailing from the original Carousel of Progress. That song was later replaced with another Sherman Brothers tune, "Now Is The Time." Also in Tomorrowland, but somewhat less likely to be sampled, is "Miracles From Molecules," the Sherman Brothers's theme from Adventure Thru Inner Space.

Right, so all that definitely explains why he was there. Some of his composition was probably worked into the underscore - and that's probably the pages they are looking at in the photos.

Surely he's already written a huge chunk of JW. If he's starting that score in March (for a June release, likely May recording sessions?) I'd be a little concerned. After all, Treverrow said editing was completed around Christmas.

EDIT: https://twitter.com/m_giacchino/status/507753006679334912

So he was writing Inside Out back in November (released a week after Jurassic World). So he's got two recording sessions and two entire scores to finish before the end of May. :eh:

Maybe Williams could step in and assist!

Hopefully just a few. I respect the Shermans and their works, but I want to hear a MG's own take on this subject.

As with Star Trek, I bet we will get MG's take on the material except probably in an end credits suite that merges the pre-existing themes in an energetic retro montage.

I wonder if the news that Teddy Newton had left Pixar for Paramount was true or not. Giacchino scored Newton's short film Day & Night, and I had hoped he would score Newton's full-length Pixar film. Since Newton was at one of the Tomorrowland sessions, maybe he'll bring Giacchino over to his Paramount film.

The trailer's here!

I'm at work and can't listen - is there any Giacchino music in this?

Just watched the trailer. Movie looks great! Really looking forward to it.

Definitely generic trailer music and not Giacchino.

For some reason I'm expecting a Super 8 ish score now

Wait. It's a movie about Disney saving the world? Ugh.

Hey, he's not the only one at the helm in this story. What about Einstein and Edison? And potentially Tesla?

The OST CD is coming from Universal. It's up for pre-order on Amazon for 13 bucks, though they list their stock placeholder release date of Dec 31 for now

And now the Amazon US listing states its Walt Disney Records, not Universal Music Group

Meanwhile, the Amazon UK listing still says Universal Music Group

Gee, from interested to pass. Looks so cliched... and Clooney phoning in another dull performance? Geez, way to kill all interest in a movie in two minutes.

Michael Giacchino will have a cameo appearence in this, according to this report:

"He sees them board the It's A Small World ride and when he's stopped by a ride operator (in a nice cameo from composer Michael Giacchino) he backs away and secretly jumps a rail and boards an empty boat."

New Featurette and new TV spot

The music that you hear in this featurette could be Giacchino?

Hear from 1:39: seems very "giacchinian".(not sure if in English this term may make sense)

Hmm, they're showing an extended preview of this at Disneyland right now. Might go watch it. The earlier trailers just looked like typical modern CGI catastrophe Summer blockbuster type. However, the Japanese trailer paints a slightly different picture.

I agree! :) I'm loving the bright colors. We're only about a month away now! Maybe we'll start hearing some samples soon?

Ew. In the UK and some other countries, the film will be known as "Tomorrowland: A World Beyond"
