Scores that have nothing to do with the holiday:

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Scores that have more to do with the Holiday:

I'm a bit of a Halloween nut. In addition to a massive collection of Halloween novelty music, I enjoy the following scores immensely:

Creepshow

Salem's Lot

Sleepy Hollow

Friday the 13th

Bride of Frankenstein

Dracula (Williams)

The Omen

Halloween

The Fog

Bram Stoker's Dracula

And lots and lots of Hammer Film music.

For whatever reason, I think of Poltergeist as a Summer movie, and this the score isn't right for Halloween in NY.

I was surprised at how much I love the score for Salem's Lot. It just hits all the right creepy beats, and is very retro, yet still unnerving. A lot of horror music runs the risk of becoming grating or unlistenable. Salem's Lot never wears out its welcome.

The Ninth Gate

War of the Worlds

The Fury

The Day the Earth Stood Still

The Fly

Fantastic Journey

Hellboy

And one of the creepiest Goldsmith scores ever (yeah, Dies Irae is in there as well):

I could go on and on.

Does anyone remember the thread where someone was freaking out because some guy was driving around the neighborhood cranking the theme from Halloween?

Yeah. I forgot who it was but the guy would drive around everyday and not just on Halloween.

For me, the first two Harry Potter scores are very "Novembery" to me while the third one is very "springy".

Well, the first two were released in November and the soundtrack album for the third in May. ;)

And lol KM, I came here to say that about Elfman. Probably more than half of his output works.
