I've read every bit of info? KM doesn't know what he's saying.

Your the most prominent poster in this thread, like you were in the Prometheus thread. Yet you can somehow wait 6 month to see the film streaming on your ipad?

Piracy Alex?

People don't go to the video store anymore, Joey, they stream a movie.

Piracy from streaming is on the rise. However Alex people still do use the video stores. And Redbox is quite successful.

Really? Not here they do, I'm sorry. I never knew it was still a big thing in your country. It might take a little while longer, but eventually the video store will ceased to exist in your area as well. CD stores are also very rare around here. There only a few of them left and they are selling vinyl again.

Like Quintus said, "streaming" is official here (Prime, TV, Xbox, Netflix, ...). "Downloading" means piracy.

We still have videostores.

I think there will be a lot less of the but a few will always remain (just like c.d. stores). Not every one has in Internet plans that allows to stream movies freely

A lot of old people don't have internet at all

You mean like on every corner of every street? Or one little stubborn store in the whole city?

Everybody has internet here, especially old people, but they don't stream, they watch whatever is on TV.

It's streaming or downloading here.

For some stupid reason I can seem to rent movies through the Amazon app on my Samsung blu ray player. I can watch all the normal Prime programing, I have the ability to purchase a movie, but the rental option is just not there like it is on the website. Unless I'm just missing it.

Because of this I was finally going to use Redbox for the first time when I experienced the desire to watch Iron Man 3. But by then it was too late and they didn't have a Redbox in my area that carried it.

Matthew McConaughey sitting on one side of a desk, talking to two people on the other side.... it's a True Detective outtake!

Maybe there'll be a succession of clips posted online for promo purposes now, like they do with other movies these days. Hopefully they'll upload so many, like they often do, that I can just watch them all in order, and save myself a trip to the cinema.

Interesting! Nolan went to the leading scientists for their theories and calculations and apparently the science in Interstellar is as 'correct' as it can possibly get. Universities will be using the film's visuals to show how light being absorbed by a black hole looks like. That's a first, I believe.

Interstellar has 12 rotten reviews out of 45, while Gravity has only 10 rotten reviews out of 305, proving that Gravity is a better movie.

Not really, it just proves it is more successful in what it aims to do. Whether that means "a good film"... well that's debatable.

It was a really well executed technical excercise but I can't remember much of it by now, to be honest. It had a really weak script, that one.

Gravity was an entertaining thriller set in space, and expertly crafted from a technical standpoint.

Interstellar on the other hand, will be real hard sci-fi, one that I hope will be quite good. I'll find out on Tuesday I guess.

My feelings on Gravity are pretty similar to my feelings on Inception. Both are fairly gimmicky and much of the interest is lost upon the second viewing. I prefer Gravity because its much less pretentious and it has its running time is less ponderous.

My home viewing experience was actually better than my theater experience, mostly because the theater lights were left on and the projector was out of focus. This can mostly be attributed to the fact that the theater was run by 15 year olds.

well that must not have helped

I had perfect seating and viewing conditions on IMAX. I always buy my tickets in advance and reserve the same seats

Gravity is a must-see experience on the big screen. But I grant you that it doesn't have much replay value at home. It is an admirable feat though, one that I personally enjoyed sitting through.

Well, that one is a real IMAX with a square screen, but smaller than the museum ones. It used to have the opening Lazer demo show (probably only in Canada)

I've seen the lesser IMAX and they don't even have the true IMAX shape screen. It's just like an improved regular theater. It's a bit confusing that they are still called IMAX

You're exempt from the idiot designation. ;)

It's just part of my sensational new uncompromising, hard-hitting, and no-nonsense posting strategy. A sort of hommage à Publicist.
