In a movie or a TV series: Visions, flashbacks, memory loss = BORING.

And yet you just said that American Horror Story is your kind of thing.

What's wrong with flashbacks?

Everything a movie or show should only occur in chronological order? WTF?

The non CBS actor is something worse. An ABC actor.

Yeah, but he doesn't strike me as one. In fact, he's Welsh. :P

He was a on a ABC soap for 5 years welsh or not. He was so fey.

Yeah, but you are missing the point.

He does have an interesting look.

Yes, his look and his acting aren't typical for CBS or ABC. He gets BAFTAS for his work in the UK. He's really a good and interesting actor.

Flashbacks in a movie is too often the way directors shows their incapacity of telling a story.

Anyway, this get me step out.

Have you ever confessed to what type you are attracted to, Joey?

I wouldn't do him. He's more your type than mine.

Indeed

You're drugged.

When you say football are you suggesting what I call soccer or real football? If soccer hell no. If American football still 75% no.

Looking forward to the Strain and Zoo (CBS and James Patterson ) should be a watchable train wreck

Not even Married? There's Judy Greer in it.

Never heard of it.

I loved her last comedy on TV - Mad Love. Cancelled after one season, like this probably will be.

Alex's Golden Age Of TV!

Some people don't see the difference, of course.

Not so long ago, I wouldn't have have dreamed of buying a TV series on Blu-ray. Not too long ago, I wouldn't have thought it would be possible for me to find TV more satisfying than film.

Steef, even in the last Golden Age of Hollywood (when the lunatics where running the asylum), only a small amount was golden age. There will always be more bad than good. It's Sturgeon's Law: Ninety percent of everything is crud'.

The TV medium has significantly matured in the last 15 years. Most of the best TV shows ever have been created in the last decade and a half.

There are very good shows and very bad shows made every year.

I agree.

Still, while I'm happy with 4 or 5 sublime TV series a year (to me that is already an abundance), one has to wonder why Minority Report looks so silly. If I was Spielberg, I would be ashamed of myself. I would want to compete with the very best out there. I want people to say, "Wow, this is better than Breaking Bad. Spielberg has inaugurated the Diamond Age of television!"

Has a television show based on a movie ever been great?

Fargo is pretty darn good! They really got the show right.

Spielberg has never really been a big hit on TV.

ER was the most successful show he was involved in, and he didn't do all that much. Animaniacs was probably the other.

Duel remains his best TV work

Band of Brothers?

There's not much on TV these days. I miss the days where the best TV shows were Star Trek, Buffy, Sabrina, Stargate, Sliders, Seaquest DSV, Goosebumps, Seinfeld and reaching a bit further back, Columbo, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Real Ghostbusters, Count Duckula, Duck Tales, Macgyver, Tales from the Crypt and Freddy's Nightmares.
