As the original showrunner and divisor he enjoyed the success and plaudits of season 1, but I preferred it after he left. The pilot was great, but the remaining episodes were all over the place I thought. The show got much better and eminently more watchable in later seasons, without Darabont.

Perhaps I'll watch it at some point, but the production sounds like a complete mess. Darabont wanted to keep the scope and style big, but AMC are cheap bastards so they fired him.

I remember Weiner having issues with them on Mad Men. That they wanted him to cut down on runtime so they could squeeze in more commercials.

The production values of the first season were pretty cheap. But with the later seasons, they got a much better handle at playing to their strengths.

It really isn't a mess and is in fact the opposite. The scope and style is real. I prefer it to Game of Thrones, which has become a bit of a mess.

I gave up both series when it became apparent that they were just killing off characters for the heck of it.

That's the spin off show, no? In The Walking Dead the large cast are at least largely altogether in one or two places.

No, I was talking about TWD. I don't watch Fear the Walking Dead yet. With the trip to Alexandria and the return of Morgan, TWD cast is bigger than ever. Is it as big as GoT? Of course not, but at least TWD is set on one continent instead of three, allowing the characters to mingle more often, even when they split up after big events.

I wish you all good luck and good adventure on TWD. I gave up on it twice. Once after the mid-season 2 finale. Gave it another go and made to the mid-season 5 finale, which was one of the most godawful pieces of television I've ever seen. Which is a shame since the first episode of season 5 was one of their best. The show is so inconsistent and character-deprived that I just can't keep doing it to myself. Had to let it go, the last time for good (possibly).

New, almost 5 minute trailer for The Walk

You can just flat out tell that the walk sequence is going to be one hell of a thing to watch in the theater. Damn that looks intense.

Premiered today at the New York Film Festival, reviews starting to come in. Seems like the consensus is "good, not great" for the film overall but that the walk itself is indeed absolutely stunning. Never doubted Zemeckis in that department, probably will see it for that alone.

Out of respect and acknowledgement of Paul Walker's contribution of the Fast and Furious film Universal will probably only made three more films before ending this franchise.....

"Only" three more... lol.

They are restraining themselves considerably. If Walker had lived there would have been 10 sequels coming I am sure.

Whoa, so Williams, Morricone, and now Sakamoto all have scores coming this December...man, I can't wait!! Imagine if they all deliver their A-game  or even B-game!

Also that movie is looking fantastic.

More superhero movies, please!

Why can't you accept the simple truth?

Okay, I can accept it now:

The Martian has 92% now with 159 reviews counted.

This must be a hard blow to crocs and TGP. Let's not mock them too hard, shall we?

Ouch!

I'll try not to...

Yeah but is it real sci-fi?

No one mentioned sci-fi. You're the one who brought it first!
