#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Didnt Darabont get it wrong at first? And the network fired him?
Quintus 5,399
As the original showrunner and divisor he enjoyed the success and plaudits of season 1, but I preferred it after he left. The pilot was great, but the remaining episodes were all over the place I thought. The show got much better and eminently more watchable in later seasons, without Darabont. Koray Savas 2,251
Perhaps I'll watch it at some point, but the production sounds like a complete mess. Darabont wanted to keep the scope and style big, but AMC are cheap bastards so they fired him.I remember Weiner having issues with them on Mad Men. That they wanted him to cut down on runtime so they could squeeze in more commercials.
Quintus 5,399
It really isn't a mess and is in fact the opposite. The scope and style is real. I prefer it to Game of Thrones, which has become a bit of a mess.
KK 3,307
The production values of the first season were pretty cheap. But with the later seasons, they got a much better handle at playing to their strengths.
Quintus 5,399
The Walking Dead probably has the best special effects budget going outside of Game of Thrones.
Wojo 2,453
It seems to be getting almost as large a cast of characters. Not counting all the dead ones, of course.
Quintus 5,399
That's the spin off show, no? In The Walking Dead the large cast are at least largely altogether in one or two places.
Not Mr. Big 4,639
It really isn't a mess and is in fact the opposite. The scope and style is real. I prefer it to Game of Thrones, which has become a bit of a mess.I gave up both series when it became apparent that they were just killing off characters for the heck of it. In The Walking Dead the large cast are at least largely altogether in one or two places. No, I was talking about TWD. I don't watch Fear the Walking Dead yet. With the trip to Alexandria and the return of Morgan, TWD cast is bigger than ever. Is it as big as GoT? Of course not, but at least TWD is set on one continent instead of three, allowing the characters to mingle more often, even when they split up after big events. nightscape94 965
I wish you all good luck and good adventure on TWD. I gave up on it twice. Once after the mid-season 2 finale. Gave it another go and made to the mid-season 5 finale, which was one of the most godawful pieces of television I've ever seen. Which is a shame since the first episode of season 5 was one of their best. The show is so inconsistent and character-deprived that I just can't keep doing it to myself. Had to let it go, the last time for good (possibly).
A24 4,333
You know what it is? You all gave up because you couldn't wait to go back to your usual CBS series. Admit it! All of you are secretly watching Blue Bloods. Bah!

mrbellamy 6,286
New, almost 5 minute trailer for The Walk You can just flat out tell that the walk sequence is going to be one hell of a thing to watch in the theater. Damn that looks intense.Premiered today at the New York Film Festival, reviews starting to come in. Seems like the consensus is "good, not great" for the film overall but that the walk itself is indeed absolutely stunning. Never doubted Zemeckis in that department, probably will see it for that alone.
